You don't actually read the Sun do you? Journalists there are all crackheads. Example: Babcock has stated that all positions except the PF are in need of upgrade and he will be picking players based on talent, not need. He also said that he will most likely be taking a look at a swingman and a PG in the first round,, or two swingmen.

I'd rather hear it from babs himself.
If you all take Monta Ellis with either one of your first round picks, then your GM should be fired. Ellis is a tweener that lacks size for the 2-guard position, and isn't even close to being NBA ready.
Most likely, Ellis is being looked at as a potential second round pick. Although he is quite undersized to be a two and lacks the passing skill to be a one, I think he could be an Eddie House/Dajuan Wagner type player. The way he can put the ball in the basket is very impressive, and he could be a tempo changer off the bench. With the potential he has, it is well worth picking him in the second round.
To be honest I would rather have Louis Williams than Monta Ellis. He just has more potential than he does and that is what the 2nd round is all about. Louis Williams could be the point guard of the future for the Raptors. It's a long shot but worth a 2nd round pick.
Actually, we have Monta Ellis going to Toronto in JustBBall.Com's Mock Draft v5. He would be an excellent selection if they don't draft a Point Guard in the first round. Wouldn't it be great if the Raptors could take care of other needs in the first round and still get a great Point Guard through the second round? Also, there are a lot of misconceptions about Monta Ellis. He doesn't lack passing skills, and he can handle the ball. In High School, he was a Point Guard for his Freshman and Sophomore years and was just a Shooting Guard for his Junior and Senior years because he was the best shooter on the team. That doesn't mean that he doesn't know how to run a team. Don't forget that he averaged 7.6 apg along with that 42.0 ppg.
I don't know if I want Ellis as our energy guy off the bench.. I like Nate Robinson better despite the fact that he only stands at 5'9".
