<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">GREENBURGH, NY, June 1, 2005 -- In today?s youth-oriented basketball universe, even all NBA early entries are not created equal. Take North Carolina junior Raymond Felton, reigning national Champion, winner of the Bob Cousy Award for best college quarterback, basically a fully mature point guard. ?It was the best time to come out of school,? he says following his Knicks workout at the team?s Madison Square Garden Training Center. ?After last season, what else was there left for me to accomplish?? At the same time, high school phenom Monta Ellis claims ?I felt that I was ready for the NBA challenge,? as well. ?But, just by working out here, going up against Raymond, opened my eyes. I know I have to get physically stronger,? he says.
Felton, the college junior, is a sturdy 6-1, 200 pounds of experienced muscle. Ellis, the kid, is a willowy 6-2 and 175 after a large meal.
Where they do finally meet is in their terrific talents and the things they have to offer the team that might pick them on June 28th. ?I am a tremendous admirer of Steve Nash and Jason Kidd,? says Felton. ?I think Nash?s MVP Award was more than deserved. Look at all the things those two guys do for their teams, whether or not they score a lot on a given night. I?ve seen Nash score two points and be the best player out there. I?m a great believer that a team benefits the most from a pass-first point guard. That?s the type of player I aim to be.?</div>

I like both of these guys and the only one I see us getting is Ellis. Isiah won?t draft a point guard simply because we don?t need one with our lottery pick, but if someone like Ellis is still on the board by 30 or maybe even 54, than Zeke might be hard pressed to pass up on such talent.

Ellis should have gone to school. 6'2, 175 lbs and mainly a high school two guard hardly stands out, but with his quickness he could be a poor man's Allen Iverson. A nice project in the second round.

UNC's Felton talks a good game, too, for Knicks

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- The Knicks worked out North Carolina's championship point guard Raymond Felton yesterday. Felton demonstrated his quickness, his improving shooting ability and especially his supreme confidence.
Felton, who might be the most talented player available to the Knicks when they select No. 8 in the NBA Draft later this month, could even see himself displacing Stephon Marbury at point guard.
When asked if he would welcome being drafted by a team with an established one guard, Felton said it would be no problem because Marbury could move to the wing.</div>

If Isiah drafts Felton than I think it will officially mean the ending for Marbury is near. I love Felton and when he was on North Carolina he showed us some great qualities for his game, but point guard is the least of our concerns right now. I would definitely welcome a trade for Marbury and would draft Felton if that were the case.

It really is food for thought because we don?t necessarily need Felton, but at the same time he probably is the most talented player available. The article also mentioned Marbury moving to the wing fulltime and allowing Felton to take care of the point guard duties. I don?t know how that will work having Marbury playing much bigger players than him especially with his horrible defense.

Monta Ellis as I said before is okay and can become a decent project that we
might be able to get for cheap.
