Too bad Philly got rid of O'Brien, I thought he could eventually be shipped over to the 76ers. An alternative destination for him could be Atlanta. The Hawks lost out on the Bogut sweepstakes and likely won't be able to spend any money and the top big men free agents this year. Mark Blount & Banks or the Celtics 1st rounder could be traded for say, Al Harrington and Atlanta then gets a 7 footer and a capable starting PG.

They'll probably draft Marvin Williams, giving them 4 SF/PF 'tweeners. Harrington will be the most likely candidate to get moved, of the 4. For them: Banks Smith Williams Childress Blount If they're looking to run n' gun, then that's quite the lineup. At the point, Banks is one of the fastest players in the league. Smith, Williams, and Childress are prototype swingmen that will thrive as finishers on the break. And Blount is one of the best uptempo 7-footers you can get. For us: West/1st round pick Ricky/Tony Allen Pierce Harrington Jefferson Assuming we 'stay pat', it will upgrade our PF and C postions. We can keep an uptempo style, but have two goto guys down low. Plus, we'd be getting rid of Blount's contract, which is the best part about it.

Does this particular problem begin and end with Mark Blount? Last year we were told that Mark Blount and Danny Ainge never spoke. What does that mean? How is that possible? At the end of this season, it's Blount and Rivers not speaking. Huh? It's one thing for Blount to tune out Ainge or Rivers, but general managers and coaches should always be talking to their players. We have a coach who talks the running game but fails to enforce it as a system. He has the power of substitution, but only disciplines his number-one ball-stopper by taking him out a couple of times for a few minutes during the course of an entire season. He stands on the sideline and yells "run, run, run," when he should be yelling "pass the ball ahead." "Pass the ball ahead, run, and get it back." Mark Blount is criticized for not rebounding, but think about how he is used in this asinine blitz defense. (How many turnovers did that defense produce to cancel out all the open jumpers and uncontested dunks that it allowed? How could playing straight man-to-man, switching only when necessary, been less effective?) That defense NEVER had Blount in position to rebound or block out. With all the jump-outs to the top of the key, it had him on a yo-yo. Mark Blount has proven that he can be an effective rebounder when he is part of a tandem. He proved it alongside Brandon Hunter and Chris Mihm. But he will never be an effective rebounder without a strong power forward. Hello Al Jefferson. If this team ever becomes the running team it claims it wants to be, Mark Blount, a 7-footer who can run the floor, will be a valuable asset. Just put Delonte West at point guard and get the ball out of Pierce's hands and see how much Blount improves. Does anyone besides me remember how hard he was running the floor at the start of the season. Then he stopped, and it should be obvious why.
Im very surprised at the change in Mark. He was a good player, and had some good years in Boston when he first got there. I do not know what happened to him he always seemed to be a nice guy to me on the court. Maybe, some off the court things he is doing on his personal time is affecting his personality. Not really sure, but I agree with the general opinion in this thread this team should look to ship him off to the fastest bidder. Im sure the Hawks would see him as a improvement over Collier at the center spot for there team. The Celtics have so many good young players now that Blount really has become expendable for them. He really did not help his case with management or Ainge with those comments in the article. On the real though there would be a couple temas who the Celtics could probably get a offer from. I think the Knicks may be a possibility if the trade for Q goes through they will not have anyone to fill the center spot.

Truly one of the dumbest humans on the planet. u can tell jsut by the look in his eyes. it SCREAMS "duhh....what?" wish we could trade him but no one would take him.
