<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PHOENIX - Chris Rodgers' spring fling with the NBA came and went Wednesday. At least the Suns hope it did. After Rodgers joined Pittsburgh's Chevon Troutman and Italy's Angelo Gigli for a pre-draft workout on the Suns' practice court Wednesday, Suns player personnel director David Griffin issued a clear warning to the UA guard and an advisor. "I told both of them very directly, 'Look, you have to go back to school,' " Griffin said. "I said, 'You need to make sure you maintain your eligibility through this process. You need to come out of school next year after having a good year, and you're capable of doing that.' " Rodgers has applied for early-entry status into the draft, but has indicated a desire to return to the UA for his senior season. He has until June 21 to withdraw from the June 28 draft. Suns executive vice president Dick Van Arsdale, who attended the workout, said Rodgers "needs'' to return to school. But he said the 6-foot-4-inch Rodgers, who averaged 5.5 points and shot 37.4 percent as a top reserve guard for the UA last season, does have some NBA-type ability. "I've always liked Rodgers' skills," Van Arsdale said. "I think athletically, he's good. He's quick and he can defend. But I think he needs to work on finding his game and becoming a more consistent shooter." </div> Source
