<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I've always said that's the beauty of free agency," Redd said. "Being a free agent, you have the ability to weigh your options. Obviously, Milwaukee would be my first choice, to figure out something we could do here. "I obviously want to win. My family and I will make a sound decision." Redd is scheduled to become a free agent on July 1, if the players association and the league can reach a new collective bargaining agreement by that time. If no agreement is in place, he would be in limbo, unable to receive offers from any team. "Oh, man," Redd said of any lengthy delays. "You want to get the lockout done as quick as possible. It just so happens to be my free-agent year at the same time. For me personally, I want to get my contract situation out of the way as quick as possible." The Bucks' fall from grace during the past season weighed especially hard on Redd. He averaged a career-best 23 points per game but seemed powerless to prevent the downward spiral, which resulted in a 30-52 record, the worst for the Bucks since the 1995-'96 season. But he thinks there is reason for optimism, helped by the addition of the top overall pick in the upcoming draft. He said the Bucks needed to strengthen their overall talent pool and upgrade their bench. "I know Sen. Kohl, and he's an owner that hates to lose," Redd said, referring to team owner Herb Kohl. "And I know (general manager) Larry Harris hates to lose as well. We'll see what happens. "I know this team had the potential to do better than we did last year. We weren't what our record indicated; we were a lot better than that. There were a lot of games we lost at the buzzer, a lot of injuries, the chemistry was shaken a bit. We'll make some changes."</div> Source
im glad milwaukee gets the first offer cause i hope he stays with milwaukee while they try to regain their top postion in the nba.
I think it depends on how much money Redd is asking for. I would not give him a max deal, I don't think he's worthy of being a franchise player. I don't even think he's worth $10M a season.

But that's not gonna stop some dumb franchise from offering him a ridiculous contract just to sign with them.
Redd will get the max, thats no question about It. These days players get big deals just for being big and who can rebound. Now you have a guy like Redd who can take over games at will, shoot the ball amazingly well and attack the rim. The Bucks will offer the max If nothing else but to keep him. Redd is very young and will keep improving. I would give him the max If I were a GM, of course It depends what else he has around him. A Redd/Bogut duo could really be an amazing inside/outside force.
Imagine if T.J Ford fully recovered form his injury as well... The Bucks would be a team that would go deep in the playoffs... Ford, Redd, Mason and Bogut... that is deadly, not just in the east but overall.
