I have done some research and I think we should pick one of the following players with our eleventh pick. Danny Granger SF 6'8", 225 lbs. College: New Mexico Granger is supposed to be a great all around wing player and would be a nice addition to our team. He is a great rebounder and shot blocker and is also a great leader. He plays with intensity and shoots almost 48% from behind the arc. He would be a great pick by the Magic because we could use a young SF to take Grant Hill's place in a couple of years. Hill is very injury prone and who knows if he will come back and stay healthy long next season. If he does come back and get injured, having a young and talented player like Granger would be very helpful. Martell Webster SG/SF 6'7", 235 lbs. College: Washington According to some, Webster has the ability to score on anyone from anywhere on the court. He is said to be "The Total Package" and has an unstoppable pull up shot from mid range. He is a threat from inside and out and has the ability to put up 20 and 10 everytime he puts on a jersey and steps onto the court. He would be a great addition for the Magic since they could use a SF (like I said before) or SG (since the Magic played Steve Francis at the SG position last year with Jameer Nelson at the PG after Cuttino Mobley was traded). I would love for the Magic to get Webster and would be thrilled to see him around at #11. I think if he is available, the Magic will pick him in a haertbeat. Here are some players I would like the Magic to look at in the second round at pick #41. Julius Hodge SG/SF 6'6", 180 lbs. College: NC State Julius Hodge is a great offensive player who could bring a lot to the Magic. He is fast, sees the court well and has good handles. He is also extremely competetive and could be the scoring SG the Magic need if we can't land Martell Webster in the first round. Hodge led his team to the Big Dance last year and was their main scorer. I think he would be a steal at pick #41. Randolph Morris C 6'10", 266 lbs. College: Kentucky The Magic are in desperate need of a young C to play next to Dwight Howard. Tony Battie and Kelvin Cato are both getting older and won't be in Orlando for much longer. If we can get Morris in the second round that would help our frontline a lot. Or interior offense and defense would both improve and we would have youth at almost all of positions. If Morris is still on the board at #41 I really hope the Magic pull the trigger and draft him. All of these players would help the Magic either next season or in the future. This years draft is loaded with talent and I hope the Magic make good picks and land the best players available.
With Orlando only a couple of games away from making the playoffs, I think the best thing to do would be to get an instant contributor such as Antoine Wright, Danny Granger, or Martell Webster would be the consensus pick for them. The Magic also have Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson ? two young players who will hopefully be building blocks in putting this franchise on the top like it was in the mid 90?s, however, the success of the team will most likely be the main factor to whether they decide to return or not. So the best time for them to win is now and they do if they select one of those three players I mentioned. A nice young big man to compliment Howard in the paint would be welcomed, but it isn?t a necessity with Kelvin Cato and Tony Battie still around. They?re also not any real proven big men in the draft not named Andrew Bogut who?s more than likely not going to end up with the Magic?s 11th pick in the draft. Hodge will be the closest thing to Penny Hardaway the Magic have had since he left. I?m not at all saying he will turn into him because we all know Penny would have been a hall of famer had he not experienced all of those injury problems, but due to his versatility and solid all-around stats at NC State, scouts are the evaluating him like this. The Magic can definitely use a do-it-all player like any team in the NBA can. Swish15, with the 11th pick, drafting Hodge would be way too early. He?s considered to be a late first rounder to early second rounder. A more realistic scenario would be drafting him with the 41st pick. If I was in the draft, I would take these players: 11th pick: 1. Granger 2. Webster 3. Wright 41st pick: Best player available. By the way, these are the scouting reports on Wright for the most part according to Hoopshype: Height: 6-7 Weight: 200 Age: 21 Plays For: Texas A&M Strengths: Good outside shooter... Excellent athlete... Nice rebounding skills... High basketball IQ. Weaknesses: Could be more aggressive going to the basket... Strong enough for the NBA game?
Wright will be hard to get unless he slips to 11 beacuse he is killing in workouts. Also sad to say Swish Hodge is also killing making him a maybe 1st rounder so unless we trade a future 1st for Hodge or choose him at 11 i dont think our 2nds will get him(I hope we get him though) As for Webster i would like another High School player to build with Dwight but hey he might surprise everyone. If Morris can play good D maybe get him but what if Dwight is moved to the Center then we should Draft a PF beacuse there easy to find a good PF not a good Center. Signing free agents is key after the draft who ever we pick for the draft should help us in our plans for "needs" like do we need another Pg or Sf. #11 Pick 1. Wright 2. Webster 3. Fran (from Spain) #38 1. Hodge(if he falls this low) 2. Luther Head 3. Louis Williams #44 1. Brandon Bass 2. Morris 3. Bj Elder(Maybe)
The Magic should definitely look for some help inside, they need another center if Cato gets hurt then the Magic have to rely on Battie to start at center which will end a bad result. Maybe they could snag Charlie Villanueva from Uconn or maybe Channing Frye, or possibly others like Taft. I am no draft or college wiz by any means but the Magic need a center.
As long as we don't pick a PG I will be happy. The only problem with Granger is that he will be behind Hill and Hedo, so how much time will he actually get? I like him a lot too, but I dont' want him to be a "Reece Gaines" and get no playing time, which means he won't develop like he's supposed to. I would prefer a SG with the 11th pick and then a PF/C with the 2 2nds. I hope we can get David Lee with a 2nd, but he's starting to be projected to be a late first/early 2nd.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TwinTowers:</div><div class="quote_post">With the 11th pick the magic should take 1.Martell Webster 2.Danny Granger 3.Hakim Warrick</div> Yeah I would love to get Webster or Granger but I'm not so sure about Hakim Warrick. He is a tweener and we don't really need a PF since we have Dwight.
Do you think we can get the Suns draft pick #21 since they need money to sign Joe Johnson could we trade the 2nds or even a future 1st for there 1st? We could get 2 1st rounders maybe Webster, Wright at #11 and May, Hodge, or Simien at #21.

I would love to send them a future first for that pick since this draft class is full of talent from top to bottem and would love to snag a player like Hodge or Simien. I think this would be a great move and would be awesome for the future.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting PoppyDizzle:</div><div class="quote_post">I thought we could trade Cato move Howard to Center and draft Sean May</div> If we traded Cato I would want picks in return so that we could draft more young guys. I think if we drafted May we could try both him and Howard at Center and see who performs better out of position. I agree that would be a good move though because having May and Howard down low could be a great one-two punch in a few years.

I would be against trading ANOTHER future 1st for a late 1st now. Who knows, we could be plagued with injuries and give up a high pick in 4 years. We just gave up a future 1st last year and that is enough for me. I would rather trade Cato and the 2nds for a 1st or veterans to give us depth.
I sort of hope Magic give Petro a look... He is probably not going to make an impact right away (still raw and 19 years old), but we have Cato and Battie to do that work right now... Then we could hopefully trade our seconds and move up in the draft to wherever Hodge is at... I think we'd really need his size and point/shot guard playing to work with Francis... Plus, he wouldn't be too good so that DS and the rest of the backcourt would still get plenty of minutes... Here's the profile thing for Petro: ------ <u>Johan Petro</u> Birthdate: 1/27/86 NBA Position: PF/C Ht: 7-0 Wt: 260 European Team: Pau Orthez Hometown: Paris, France <u>Strengths: </u> Very athletic body... Can run the floor... Has a little right hand hook shot... Good shot blocker... <u>Weaknesses:</u> Not much going on with offense... Rumored to be lacking effort... He's French... ------ [edit] I'd still go with Wright and probably even Webster over Petro though...

If the draft were today I think we would go with either Webster or Granger and either of those guys would make me happy.
Granger is a good defender but hes a Sf(Hill,Turk are offense) we could use him like Bruce Bowen just for defense.
Granger does a bit of everything, so it won't be fully using his ability if he's just gonna be a defensive stopper. Webster has the most potential out of anyone avaliable at 11th but he is not a strong slasher due to the lack of a quick first step. It's gonna be a setback if the Magic want an athletic attacker in case Francis leaves. I would say that Wright should be nabbed if he's still around.

i really hope that we draft martell webster... i see this kid as becoming one of the big stars in the NBA... hes a leader out there which is something the magic could always use. i think if we dont draft him and he's available, it would be a huge mistake.
