What do you think the Vikes chances are at making a serious SB run.

Very good considering I still think the NFC besides the Eagles is totally up for grabs...I think with or without a happy TO..because when it comes down to it he'll play...they should still win their division and be the favorite coming out of the NFC..after that IMO its all up for grabs..for me it all depends on how fast that new defense can gel...and the growth of TW or Burelson proving he can be a #1 guy...eitherway I like them to at least make the playoffs and be a threat...

Yea I agree with you. I think Burelson is going to emerge this season. He had a great year last year and didn't start to get the ball until Moss got hurt. Moss will be missed but Burelson and Cambell and Robinson will do. Williamson is some what of a question to me. He is one of those guys who were drafted high because of a "good" combine. I would of went Mike Williams.

The vikings have a great team this year, but not that good of a coaching staff. They have a dramtically improved defense, they offense wont be as good as it was with Moss, but it will try to come close with rookie Troy Williamson. Definetly win their divison, and go to at least the championship game

It depends on how many people are saying they will do well this year. If everyone picks them for the superbowl, then they will do horrible. [IMG]

The WR position should be pretty good, although it should be interesting to see how Burleson adjusts to being the #1 receiver. We all know that can be tricky, just ask Peerless Price (yes, that was the sound of pandora's box opening). Troy Williamson is a raw prospect, so the jury will be out on him all season. I don't expect him to start contributing until next year. The word on him is that he can make the most difficult catches, but drops the easy ones. Definitely a coachable problem.

The defense will be interesting. There are a decent number of question marks on the defense to leave me guessing (that and the fact that the Vikes haven't fielded a good defense in over 10 years). I'm not sold on Sam Cowart or Pat Williams...they are both pretty old. Harris is also an unknown at this point. The secondary looks good, though.

One of the most promising aspects of the defense is the fact that for the first time in a long time the team will be using the same system two years in a row, allowing the players to grow more comfortable with it.

The word from the mini-camps is that the defense is ahead of the offense right now, which is either really good or really bad.

However things work out, I am excited to see the results. Its nice to see some big changes going on...I just hope they are good changes.

I'll stay away from the box..you all know how I feel..haha but I agree on Sam Cowart...he is Washed up IMO but is a classy vet and could help speed up the growth of the younger lb's but I believe pat williams has a few good years left in him and will help stuff the run for you guys...and the secondary does look much improved..the key being sharper staying healthy..he had alot of injuries in GB and moving to turf is no vacation..but it should be interesting..but I really think the offense will be fine but you comments on TW bring back haunting memories on Tony Simmons....ouch was he a bust for the pats.

Sharper isn't as much of a concern as others are making him out to be. If he gets injured, or just can't get the job done, we still have Ken Irvin who could fill in at safety and be solid at that spot.

I am very excited to see how TW fares throughout the year. I'm hoping for huge successes, but preparing for mediocrity.

Troy Williamson might be like micheal jenkins or reggie williams or like rashwad woods. Or he could be great like Roy Williams or Keary Colbert or Larry Fitzgerald.

It seems like half the WRs taken always have a horrible rookie year

The Vikings should win the NFC North this year. Then again, they "should have" won the NFC North the last two years. We'll see what happens...

I'm not looking forward to wearing a Vikings avatar for most of the year, but I think it's a very real possibility.

and the bears will. Vikes got the playoffs in the bag. Pack will contend and should get a WC.

Or at least I hope. [IMG]

I think the Vikings have the players to make it, but their coaching is sub-par. This is Tice's last year, and once we get Jim Fassel in 2006, this team will be ready for a serious 1-2 year run.

Jim Fassel????????? I was thinking more like a Mike Holmgrem. Give him the talent and you saw what he did with GB.

I am pretty sure Green Bay is gonna suck next year, they did nothing to improve their team. They lost a lot of key players. The only thing might help them get to 8-8 is brett favre, but that is unlikly because he lost a lot of his supporting cast

The reason why I think Jim Fassel will be the Vikings coach in 2006 is because Zygmund Wilf was very close to the Fassel family when Wilf was tied to the Giants.

He needs to work wonders with Kyle Boller to become the vikings coach
