If he is set to leave, the least we could do would be look hard at a sign and trade deal - although a shame picks couldn't be involved in that given the draft falls before July 1st. I still think his best bet is to take a qualifying offer - there and a fair few bigger fish in the free agency market this offseason, I can't see a team investing a significant amount in Vlad just yet. Still, teams seem to fall in love with guys his size who can stroke it, and he's proven he can do that at the top level time and again.

I think this is more about him just wanting to leave because I dont think he puts his house up for sell before he knows the offers from other teams and from Seattle.
When I first read the title I thought it was talking about Vlade Divac possibly becoming a Sonic. The Sonics will miss Vlade's ability to be a mis-match on the court, but there should be a lot of free agents willing to play for McMillan if he re-signs.
Good luck trying to get a deal over the MLE, I know guys get overpaid these days but surely he doesn't think Layden is still around?
This situation is funny to me. I don't know what Vlade or his agent thinks they're trying to prove by selling his house or making ridiculous comments.

But I agree Vlad should settle for the mid-level exception and be done with it. The only way he'll get paid is if he signs with the Bobcats or something.
I think the Sonics will recover...radmanovich is a great shooter, but hes a waste of size and potential, IMO...he's like a poor man's stojakovich...I dont think any team is going to pay him TOO much, unless its with a team like Atlanta, LA Clips or Charlotte...on a good-to-contending team, he's just a role player...
The only way Vlad is going to be paid is if he takes his chances with a qualifying offer and has a big season. There is no way he'll sign for a long term MLE deal unless he has an opt-out after the first season or two, which would be pointless anyway.
