That last statement is true. But dude, JJ is our best 3-point shooter. He had the 2nd best average in the league and that's what matters. I'm happy to get rid of a guy that make 10 3-pointers one game, but sucks for 15 straight games after...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GotSkillz92:</div><div class="quote_post">Update- the Suns have traded Q-rich for Kurt Thomas. JJ is a really good player. I think he can average around 20 pts. That saying Maybe Q is overpaid but he did bring alot of outside shooting. He led the league in 3 pts made. They lose theyre best long range shooter and add a 6'9 Center small than Amare and no run-and-gun at all. IDK how he's going 2 do against the West's PF's but He's a good jumpshooter. Phunky the Suns did have the best record in the NBA, but it doesnt mean Squat if they cant beat the Spurs.</div> Kurt Thomas was added with one thing in mind, Tim Duncan. The Suns need KT because if they will need to go through the Spurs to reach the Finals. If you watched the Finals, Tim Duncan had a lot of trouble against Antonio McDyess and Rasheed Wallace. The ability of those players to guard Duncan straight up kept the Pistons in the series. Kurt Thomas is also capable of guarding Duncan straight up, and his ability to hit from 18 feet forces Duncan to have to go out and guard him. Kurt Thomas might be 6'9, but he uses every inch he has when he plays. There are taller players than him, but he outworks and out positions them for rebounds, blocks, or defensive stops. QRich had a nice year, but he struggled in the playoffs when teams tightened up the defense and the Suns had to play in more half-court sets. They can replace his numbers with plenty of other players for cheaper and also better defense. This move also allows JJ and Barbosa to play more minutes and the Suns still have insurance with Jim Jackson coming off the bench. If the Mavs cut Michael Finley, I'm sure the Suns would give him a long look and consider bringing him back to Phoenix.

Suns4life, are you forgetting the first 15-20 games of the season were his shooting was sucking really bad? The 2nd half was a good time for him although he did have a lot of bad games there too.

maybe i misunderstood you, were you trying to say he didn't have a good first half of the season cuz of the first 15-20 games or were you saying his % was down becuz of the first 15-20 games
