<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">One decent player is worth more than two mediocre players, one good player is worth more than two decent players and one great player is worth more than two good players. That's the way it has always been in the NBA, and that's the way it always will be. So if the Charlotte Bobcats can parlay their two first-round picks, Nos. 5 and 13, in this month's draft into one potentially great player, they ought to. I take that back. They have to. The player they crave is Marvin Williams, a freshman last season at North Carolina. But the odds that they can move up high enough to select Williams are about as good as the odds they will make the 2006 playoffs. Is there another player worth both of Charlotte's picks? There is. That player is Wake Forest point guard Chris Paul. Some NBA scouts don't see a dramatic difference between Paul, North Carolina's Raymond Felton and Deron Williams of Illinois. I do. While Felton and Williams have the potential to be good NBA point guards, Paul has the potential to be a great one. He goes to the basket relentlessly, anticipates beautifully and can beat his man on the fast break, in a half-court set and, if necessary, in one of the stunning mini-suites in Charlotte's new arena. Paul doesn't bring the cache that Felton does. Paul led his team to its annual NCAA tournament victory. Felton -- not Marvin Williams -- led his team to the national championship. Paul will sell a few tickets because of the uniform he wore the past two seasons. Felton will sell a few thousand because of the uniform he wore the past three. Paul put off some fans by becoming frustrated and occasionally doing dumb things on the court. Felton was such a consistent citizen that every coach he played for at North Carolina raved about him. If the Bobcats can't -- or, worse, don't -- trade up and Felton is available when they make their first pick, should they take him?</div> Source
I Think having 5 and 13 is better than having Chris Paul. They can draft 2 potential stars, instead of one
If I was you guys I would rather keep the two picks and try to add to your young players... Moving up might give u Paul or Williams but I think grabing two players that could be starters in time would be a better idea than just one. If it was a vet team looking for one kid to put them over the top sure. But you are trying to build now so take the picks and get as much talent as you can.
not a big enough difference between Paul and Felton. I'd actually prefer Felton just because of Paul's size. I wouldnt even trade the raptors 7th and 16th for paul. But i like the guy, its just that there are alot of players this draft that could be something special.
They should keep their picks because this yeard draft has such good depth. But on the other hand, if they moved up to get Paul then they would have a point guard and a new franchise player to go along with Okafor.
