I'm nostalgic, I just decided I'd puttogether an all time sixers team, I dono if it's been done before but it'll be fun, here goes mine, feel free to post changes if you guys disagree. PG. Maurice Cheeks SG. Julius Erving SF.Charles Barkley PF. Moses Malone C. Wilt Chamberlain 6th man - Allen Iverson I felt i needed those 6 and i know i changed some positionsbut i think that starting 5 is pretty hard to beat.
There is always a couple of these threads around, but I guess a newer one wouldn't hurt especially since we have some new fans around the 76er forum. PG-Mo Cheeks SG-Allen Iverson SF-Julius Erving PF-Charles Barkley C-Wilt Chamberlin 6th Man- Moses Malone Head Coach-Larry Brown
PG-Maurice Cheeks SG-Allen Iverson SF-Julius Erving PF-Moses Malone C-Wilt Chamberlain Head Coach-Billy Cunningham I didn't put Barkley up there cause he didn't get into shape when he was with us,he could've been a beast but he decided to get into shape in Phoenix. Imagine him in his younger days if he would'be been in as good shape as he was in Phoenix. At times he seemed lazy so Moses and Wilt would be a great duo on both sides of the court.
PG Maurice Cheeks SG Allen Iverson SF Julius Erving PF Moses Malone C Wilt Chamberlain Coach Larry Brown HM - Hal Greer Charles Barkley & Bobby Jones
PG - Mo Cheeks SG - Allen Iverson SF - Julius Erving PF - Moses Malone C - Wilt Chamberlain 6th Man: Bobby Jones Head Coach: Billy Cunningham No brainer in my opinion, Mo Cheeks is the only point guard to lead the Sixers to a Championship win, Allen Iverson is one of the greatest scorers in Sixers history, and I can't even begin to start about Moses, Doctor, and Wilt. I felt I needed to pick a true sixth man though and Bobby Jones fits that perfectly. The coach of course the only coach to lead the Sixers to the Championship and win it in the last 20 years.
I left off Hal Greer, although he is from a different generation then ours I read an article about him before and he definitely deserves to be on the all-time team. If I am not mistaken he is one of the top 76er scorer of all time.
Nah Hal Greer had like around 19 points a game and wasn't that great of a passer. Still, during his time he was one of the greats and probably is like the 9th man on the All-76ers team. By the way, why go with the retro name Silky?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">By the way, why go with the retro name Silky?</div> So you did your research huh? I never really liked the name Silky Smooth, B-22 is like my OG nickname. I could have sworn Greer was like an all time leader in points socred not points averaged, I'll have to double check it. EDIT: I was correct he is the 76ers all time point leader with 21,586 overall points he is ahead of Dr.J, Dolph Schayes, Billy Cunningham, AI, and Charles Barkley. He also led the 76ers in many other categories check it out: http://www.nba.com/sixers/history/top5_career.html
PG-Maurice Cheeks SG-Allen Iverson SF-Julius Erving PF-Moses Malone C-Wilt Chamberlain This team pretty much picks itself, not sure about the coach though hmm...
PG - Mo Cheeks SG - Allen Iverson SF - Julius Erving PF - Moses Malone C - Wilt Chamberlain It's hard to keep Billy Cunningham off that list.
