"We are very pleased to add Gordie to Coach Frank's staff," said Thorn. "He brings a wealth of NBA knowledge to our team, which will be very beneficial to our players as well as the other members of the coaching staff."

Chiesa, a native of Union City, New Jersey, spent the last 16 years as an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz. His coaching career began on the collegiate level as athletic director and head coach at St. Thomas Aquinas, where he guided the Spartans to several post-season tournaments and posted three 20-win seasons. </div>

I like the move, although we as fans, may never see any direct result of it. If Gordon (or is it Gordie? I've seen different ones) Chiesa can last 16 years with Jerry Sloan, and have Sloan commend him for his effort and ability, then the Nets have hired a very good assistant coach. Good for his family too.
