I would take a look at him. He's widely considered the best player in Europe. He's a deadly shooter and an even better passer. And he is tall for a pg, which would seem to fit the tall lineup we are putting together. My only concerns about him are his age, defense, and how well his game will translate to the NBA.
I heard he was asking for 10 million dollars over a 3 year period and I'm not sure if i'd want the Cavs to give an unproven pro player that kind of money. He seems to be a pretty solid shooter and has great passing skills, but lacks great defense that a guard must have. I'd rather the Cavs try and get into the draft and take a younger guard then let him learn behind Snow.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Cavaliers are expected to have interest in Jasikevicius</div> Oh, brother. I think the Cavaliers should stay away from him. I heard he is a vulnerability on the defensive end and after all, playing aside LeBron James I think an established PG would do the Cavaliers better justice. I just can't see this character ebbing very successful in the NBA and before you know it he will head back overseas like Kutulay. If I worked within the Cavaliers organization I would strongly push for Antonio Daniels. Lastly, I also heard about him asking for 10 mil for 3 years, and honestly I think that is a little too much for an unproven player.
I have a question about situations like this. How is it that some foriegn players, Darko and Yao, enter the draft and others, like this guy and Nocioni, sign as a free agent? Is there a certian reason, or is it the players decision?
well in the case of Jasikevicius, he played for Maryland in the states and was not put on an NBA team. unless, i'm wrong. if i'm right, then thats why he can be signed straight out, because teams had an chance to draft him.

Is this the same situation as Nocioni then?

I'd like to go after Daniels mainly. I think he would fit in well. Jasikevicius I think could fit in well. If he would be as good as Nocioni I would love for the Cavs to get him.
He wants 5 mill a year but he would help the Cavs and their 3 point shooting I would say it would be a pretty good pick-up by the Cavs.
I think he'd take the Cavs' 5 mil and a starting nod.. It appears as though the Pacers are the other contenders for his services but there, he'd have to compete with Tinsley (granted dude's always injured)..
What do you think his chances of comin' to Cleveland are? I say they're 100% if the Cavs still want him.. He's a lock.. If they can give him the MLE+ and the starting job, how the hell can he turn that down?? Hopefully we'll get to see LBJ and team Lithuania lol..
I would say they are very strong. Big Z is one of his best buddies, and with him resigned, Cleveland looks like a very strong possibility for Jasikevicius.
People are saying him signing with the cavs is pretty much a done deal. The main source is out of san antonio though.
