Who do you think is the best contender for the next season.

I think the Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs or the Miami Heat will take it

I would have to go with the Miami Heat. The Phoenix Suns are going nowhere without defense, With the game 7 loss in the eastern conference finals I am positive that the Miami Heat will be more hungry for a title then the San Antonio Spurs.

As much as I want the Miami Heat to win the championship next year. Im going to have to go with the Spurs. I will have to see what both teams do in the offseason to determine my final descion on who I think will be next years champion.

Nah...I'll go with the Spurs. They'll be even better next season with that one international big man that they drafted a couple years ago thats coming to the NBA next season.

The Suns will be very good again next year. Nash probably won't be as effective, but I think Staudemire will improve even more and become a legitimate MVP candidate. Dallas will be very good. San Antonio will again be very good. I think those will be the top three teams, again, in the West.

Miami, Indiana, and Detroit will be the top three teams in the East.

Hell Yeah homie, the Phoenix will be on top next season. They are hungry for a title. Now they gained that playoff experience everybody was criticing about. With a couple more bench players and a little more focus on defense they will beat anybody.

Whether the Spurs win it this year or the next, they will be a power to contend with for at least the next 4-5 years. They could win it all for possibly next 4-5 years. How many superstars want that championship ring, so look for possibly, another big time player to join the Spurs. That is if they can play team ball, if there is the slightest doubt in Pop's mind, they can forget it.

In a way I think it was good that the "Mailman" didn't join the Spurs, it would of messed up the team chemistry. His ego would of F'd things up and created to much of a distraction. Don't look for more than 1-3 new players to join the Spurs next year. They have all of the components they need, team doesn't need much tweeking for next year. Expect pretty much the same teams to return to the playoffs next year. If Spurs win Tuesday night, it's over.

Other than the Kings, Ill pick the Indiana Pacers. They proved to be somewhat competitive in their series with Detroit even without Artest.Jamal Tinsley has emerged as a key player for them and I think they'll be the hungriest team in the playoffs next year.Theyve got that good balance of offense and defense. So the Pacers...

I may not like them but Detroit can contend once again next year in the east. However, I think that the Heat will come out strong next year and hungry for a title. I think Shaq will be nastier than this year because now he is even more motivated to deliver on his promise. Dwayne Wade can only become better and if they get a veteran pg who can run the offense they wil lgo far. My pick as of now is probably the Spurs. They aren't loaded up on talent, they play as a team which is why they win so much. With Duncan peaking they should be in the drivers seat going into next year. Like Miamiballa said, it's all about what the teams do in the offseason.

Heat: get a veteran pg to run the offense well, and RE-SIGN SHAQ!!!!! Please!
Spurs: have a good draft to find some young talent who can come in and contribute.

For Phoenix to have a chance they'll have to go from one of the worst defensive teams to one of the best.Doubt that will happen.

The Suns have the most underated defense in the league. If the other team didn't have as much posessions because of their style of play they would be one of the best defensive teams in the league. They will go far next season

Can we at least wait until this season is over before we predict next year's champion?

But here's my two cents. I think Miami will win if Shaq' resigns. The Spurs will also be another contender.` I'm hoping my Celtic's will get out of the first round next year. [IMG]

    The Oakland Warriors.

In all seriousness, Spurs will win again next year. They will have almost the same team but also have the MVP of the Spanish League, Luis Scola. Miami has a chance if they get a better PG who plays defense and creates shots.

The Miami Heat will win the title next year. Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem will have one more year of experience. The Heat will get a nice player in this years stacked draft. Shaq will be hungry for a ring along with fellow center Alonzo Mourning who is ringless (if he returns). I think if the Heat can stay healthy they will be the 2006 NBA champions.

It puzzles me why so many people can make these predictions when this season isn?t even done yet? There?s a whole offseason and if I remember correctly, that is how the Heat became contenders, right? Let the draft picks, and offseason trades and signings pan out before making these predictions.
