I think Jason Kidd is definately the best point guard of the last 5 years. nash had a better season last year. You can't forget Kidd made it to the NBA finals 2 years in a row.
Nash had one really good year, Kidd has been good every year. Nash never made it to the finals, Kidd has made it many times. Nash's only real advantage is shooting while Kidd scores closer to the rim more often and plays great defense. I'd have to give it to Kidd, though Nash had a spectacular year this year.
I have to agree Kidd has been real good in the past seasons, however I see Nash having a better future that Jason. I give props to JKidd he's awesome, but his time is over.
Im gonna ake JKidd. He's the better player. He took a team to the finals twice while Nash has never been there. Kidd is a better scorer and I think he is a better leader.
Nash is a greater offensive player than Kidd. They're passing abilities are comparable, but Nash is a far more efficient and effective scorer. Kidd is better in pretty much every other facet, however. Defense, rebounding, lose balls, steals.
Kidd has been better. Nash had his best season and i respect him for that. i still think kidd has couple of years in him though. Nash has never brought a team to the finals and until he does he cant be considered better than kidd

Kidd has been a great player, and I'd say overall he's had a better 5-year stretch than Nash, but don't exaggerate the accomplishment of taking the Nets to the Finals. There's no doubt in my mind that Nash's teams would have come out of the East as well (both his Dallas teams and the current Suns team) during those years.
Yea but Kidd's teams had way less talent than the Mavs or Suns that Nash played for. Not to take anything away from Nash, but Kidd has done ore with less than Nash.

Steve made Amare an all-star, he made Q the three point champion, he made Joe Johnson even better. The talent was made by Nash. The season before Nash they only won 20 some games. So don't talk about the talent. However JKidd is great too.
No question Steve made them better, but all of those guys were young adn ready to break out this year. Steve has had Dirk, Amare, Finley(at his peak), Joe Johnson. Kidd hasn't had that. Nedw Jersey was dead without him. Look at the way he made VC better.

Any of the top 8 west teams could have made it to the finals in the east that season. The west is clearly more competitve. In addition, Kidd was in the west for a long time and didn't take anybody to the finals. Nash has gone further in the west. Not to take anything away from JKidd he is one of my favorite players. By the way who is Telfair?
Sebastian Telfair was drafted by Portland last year. He is the cousin of Stephon Marbury. He is going to be a stud PG, and has tons of potential.
Ok so you guys think that Jason Kidd has been the better point guard. I think they are the two best point guards (true point guards) in the league. Nobody can even touch them. If i had to choose one of them to start a franchise i would choose Steve Nash.
^^i was just wonderin. When Nash and Kidd first came into the league, which one would of u have chosen back then and not rite now?
Jason Kidd is by far the better PG. His court vision is parallel that of Magic, not to mention he's unstoppable on a break. He can post, rebound, and the biggest difference between the two.... defend.
jason kidd has been having great seasons since his rookie year. hes avereges 15 6 and 10 over his career. i think hes like the only pg in the league to lead his team in rebounding. hes in the top 5 i think in triple doubles behing the big o, magic, wilt, and michael jordan i believe(correct me if im wrong i cant find it anywhere) Jason Kidd Career Highlights 2004-05 NBA All-Defensive Second Team 2003-04 All-NBA First Team 2003 USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team 2002-03 All-NBA Second Team Led NBA in assists in 2002-03 with 8.9 apg Named First Team All-NBA four consecutive seasons (1998-99, 1999-2000, 2000-01and 2001-02).
