Who thinks Quentin Richardson is overpaid? I do he's a one dimension player and is getting paid for it. He can hit the threes but a middle school player could have hit more threes or scored more than him in the post season. The Suns need to dump richardson, re-sign joe, extend Amare, get a big man, and move everyone back to their positons. Richardson is not needed
Not needed. All he does is shoot threes. He struggles against a good defense because he only has one way to score. Anyways, they have JJ and Jim Jackson. What's the need for him?
I think the Suns should try to maybe trade Q and their pick at #21 up to #8 or lower and select Channing Frye. Frye plays decent defense and the big knocks on him in college were that he was soft and wasn't explosive. Well, since he arrived at Arizon he has put on about 40-50 pounds of muscle and Chad Ford wrote the other day that with the trainer he hired he has became more explosive. He can step out and shoot jumpers at 18-20 ft. He can also run pretty well. I think this would be a great lineup.... C Channing Frye PF Amare Stoudemire SF Shawn Marion SG Joe Johnson PG Steve Nash
Maybe but i still think the suns should go for Antonio McDyess. Frye would be a good bench player. That would give good bench energy
Idk about Dice.. he's not what he used to be. I'd also like to get someone who can defend the other team's centers since Amare's defense is not that great yet.
da_pimp1 your sig is TOO big. Max size is 468x100. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I think the Suns should try to maybe trade Q and their pick at #21 up to #8 or lower and select Channing Frye.</div> This is an interesting trade, but the Suns would have to take back a contract even more expensive than Q's to make it work. The Knicks have plenty of bad contracts to send over, Mo Taylor, Malik Rose, Jerome Williams, and Kurt Thomas, but trading for one of those puts the Suns in the same cap problem they are in now. I think Isiah would force them to take Jerome Williams or Kurt Thomas to move up to #8 in the draft. I don't think Frye is worth it for Phoenix to trade up to #8 and give up QRich for him and take back a bad contract. Frye is a nice fit, but there are some athletic free agent centers on the market this summer. Dan Gadzuric, Stromile Swift, & Kwame Brown could probably be acquired in a sign & trade deal.
Q isn't that bad...He's not a pure shooter. He didn't get that 42 million because he can only shoot. Ok, he is horrible on defense but everyone knew that when he was a clipper. Offensively, he's a good post up player and inside player for his posistion and size, and he can score off the dribble. However, it became addicted to threes this year after he didn't control that ball that much combined with him getting those open 3's every game. As of now, the Suns are overpaying him, but he might become more valuable because JJ might get a lot of money that the Suns just can't afford to match. If he was on any other team, he wouldn't be considered overpaid by many because he would be doing more than shooting 3's on offense.
Q is more than a one dimensional player. He actually has a pretty versatile offensive game. But in Phoenix he has reduced himself to a three point chucker. Someone like Korver could do pretty much the same work as him for less money. If they dont retain JJ, Q may get more of a chance to be incorporated into the offense, instead of just spotting up and shooting threes.

The same thing happened to a former Suns player, Dan "Thunder" Majerle. He didn't get the nickname "Thunder" by chucking 3pt shots, when he first joined the league and in college he would take it to the rack and dunk on people. Then he developed his range and became solely a 3pt shooter. Of course he did a lot more on the defensive end, but QRich has gone from a multi-talented offensive threat into a 3pt chucker. As just a 3pt shooter he's being overpaid and should be traded while he still has some "potential" attached to his name. There are plenty of 3pt specialists out there to replace Q for a fraction of his salary. I think the Suns need to improve on their bench by adding some defensive depth.

If a team traded players who were defensively poor on a consistent basis there would be trades all over the place. Richardson can improve instead of a trade going down, they should develop him defensively.
Yes he can do more than shoot three's but the suns need to find a center that is better than Steven Hunter to start. That's why they need to trade Q to have the money for something like that.
i think q is more of a 6th man than a starter. especially for the suns. at the end of the season i was ready and willing to trade him but then i got to looking at the free agents and then i got to thinking. normally me and thinking are bad. if the suns start hunter or another center than everyone can go back to their nat. pos. and q can come off the bench. he would no doubt be 6th man of the year and he would give the suns a much depper bench than they have now.

As another team, I wouldn't accept Q-Rich and lose a high lottery pick. I feel you can get a player that would benefit your team more. Q-Rich is a three point jacker, who really has little else to his game. He's an okay defender, good rebounder, good post up player, but never posts ups, and has weak handles. He's not terrible, but his game really isn't too good...
Q is not a one-dimensional player, the only reason he only jacked up threes for the Suns this past season is that he was supposed to stay out there to creat more space for Amare in the paint. Q has a very good low post game, and he displayed it often as a Clipper.
