We all know the tory of Alonzo Mourning. He came back this year to try and get what had always eluded him, an NBA title. He averaged 6 points, 2 blocks, and 4 rebounds in the playoffs, where he saw most of his action. The Heat came up short this year but have the same lineup going into next year. So, do you guys think he should come back and give it another shot?

Of course we should give Alonzo another shot. He provided great defense during the playoffs. He also gave us rebounding and another big man that can work well within our offensive rotation. I say keep him, He'll get his ring next year. [IMG]

It's not a matter of the franchise giving him another shot, because we all know that Pat would giv him a 1 or 2 year deal for the title. It a matter of wether Zo wants to come back or not. I think he will, because he believes that he has some gas left in the tank. His leadership is huge for this team.

I think he will come back because he is dying for a ring and will comeback as a backup. If he doesn't get it this year then I think he will be done but he should be back for next season.

Yes Zo should come back. And he will come back.

Everyone knows the HEAT will contend for the Title next season & Zo will be a part of it.

Barring any setbacks with his health, he can still contribute alot to this team. His Defensive presence, even at his age & condition, is second to none in the NBA. He is a Natural Defensive Beast. He provides great energy off the bench and can contribute steady minutes. Michael Doleac is under contract and will also help out at Center.

P.S. It helps alot that he's willing to play for minimum salary [IMG]

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! He should come back and play with Shaq again.
Next year, he should be more determined to play for the ring and same applies for Shaq cuz he prolly wants to redeem himself. Hunger strikes. You never know how mad they'd get until they get what they want.

Ok here's a new question for you guys. Lets say he retires, do we retire his number 33, adn does he make the HOF.

We retire his number because he used to be great when he was here before. He should make the Hall of Fame because he almost averages 20 and 10 throughout his career.

I doubt he will, but if he does retire then I believe that we should retire his jersey because of everything he has done for the Miami Heat. For his career which was mostly with the Heat he averaged 19 points and 9 rebounds and 2 blocks, He plays with the most heart of any1 else in the league. Also when the Heat were in their prime(other then now) it was all Hardaway, and Mourning they led us to the Eastern Conference Finals a couple times and shouldnt be forgotten. The only reason in my opinion why he wouldnt make the hall of fame is because he has no rings.

True, but he is arguably the greatest shotblocker of all time.

There's no question in my mind that if Zo plays in the NBA next season, it'll be with the Miami Heat. He showed me in the playoffs, and in the games that Shaq missed, that he still has a lot to offer, most than many other Centers in the NBA. If he's physically and mentally capable of playing 10-15 minutes game, then I believe he should come back (to the NBA).

I think the Heat should only bring back alonzo only if they've explored all other possible options for a backup center...I love his passion and intensity, but I have concerns about his health and durability, and I think the Heat should keep that in mind...

If he was to retire, I think the Heat should undoubtedly retire his number...he was the symbol of the franchise during their glory years through the late 90s...however, as far as HOF, I think he wont make it...it'll be borderline, but if Dominique didnt get him, I dont see how Alonzo could possibly get in...

I think they should retire his jersey. He gave us so many great years. As far as HOF goes, I don't think he could..if he wins a ring, he might have a chance tho.
