Oh my God. How I don't want this to happen. It just seems as if Francis's career has been on a downhill spiral since he was traded to Orlando. I really feel sorry for him as a fan of his.

Not the first time Francis has got into some trouble after defending someone else. He has a habit of fighting back after somebody has a problem with someone who is close to him.

Man this is terrible. Francis is very important to us (as a player OR trade bait) and this is horrible.

That's crazy. Too bad I didn't hear about this. But wherever there is controversy, you can expect for Steve Francis to be in the center of it.

Lets hope his agent is telling the truth. If he isnt telling the truth then I think we should trade him even though hes a good player we need Grant Hill type of players some one who is Quiet off the court not in bad news. He might not be traded I wish he wasnt but if he did do this It will be hard to cheer for him kinda like Barkley.

I can understand if he was defending someone he is close to, but still it is kind of childish to start a fight over it.

If someone is hassling you, throws a bottle at you, and is starting crap with someone else close to you, you better get ready to defend yourself.

    BY JOHN DENTON
    FLORIDA TODAY

ORLANDO - Steve Francis was hit with a 14-count civil lawsuit late Wednesday night by two brothers alleging the Orlando Magic guard and his entourage beat them in a Washington, D.C., nightclub.

The alleged scuffle took place at approximately 6 a.m. Sunday where Francis was partying following the Mike Tyson-Kevin McBride boxing match.

Akbar Muhammad of Essex County, NJ, and Nafis Muhammad-Baker of Landover, Md., are accusing Francis and 12 unnamed members of his party of beating them about the head and body. The suit also claims Francis hit Muhammad over the head with a bottle.</div>

I just hope that's not true. I don't think Francis is such a bad guy and just hope those two brothers are making this all up to get some money or whatever.

That lawsuit should win an award for Biggest Bullcrap. Steve Francis will say stupid things, do stupid things, and all that, but he would never do this.

Besides, he was the one who got hit by a bottle.

This case probably was not that big. It is something like the Payton, Cassel, and Caffey trial. I do not think it will get much attention unless Francis is taken to court or serious charges are filed which could lead to jail time. I think they probably reached a settlement out of court.

    Here is an update.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Orlando Sentinel - Orlando Magic guard Steve Francis is back on the court tonight, but on Friday, he was in a Washington, D.C., court giving a deposition.

Three men filed a civil suit against him after claiming they were injured in an alleged June nightclub incident, and Francis' agent, Jeff Fried, told the Sentinel that Francis is being sued for $10 million.

Fried said Francis was not involved in the incident and alleged that the civil suit is being lodged only because he's a professional athlete. No criminal charges were filed.

Francis missed practice Friday in Orlando but was expected to fly back home late Friday and play tonight against the Denver Nuggets .

Fried said the case will not be tried until after the season.

"Steve came here today because we have an absolute policy that we're not succumbing to any shake-downs -- and that's what this is," Fried said by cell phone. "If you have $120, you can file a lawsuit against an Allen Iverson or a Steve Francis. . . . This is the other side of fame if you're A.I. or Steve."

Iverson is being sued for $20 million by four men in a civil case stemming from a July 20 bar brawl.</div>
