<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Pwn3d!:</div><div class="quote_post">Interesting logic, Bogut is 'proven' more than any other player in the draft, both at college and international level. If you can't teach height, why is Randolph Morris going to be lucky to be a first rounder?

People can make excuses for Bogut all they want - I expect them to, as he's a white seven footer - but at the end of the day, he was the best player in college basketball last season, bar none.</div>
Well I'm white so it's not a race issue. I just think he is going to be a mediocre player in the NBA. I'm not sure what it is but when I see him I think he is going to be decent. Something tells me Chris Paul will be a star and that he is going to make an impact for the team that he is on.

I don't think his race has anything do with it - at least not to me, but at the end of the day, there aren't many true centers in the league which is why Andrew Bogut is going number one. That and he is pretty damn good.

You can't tell me people would have any doubts about Bogut if he was african american. The NBA has been burned by so many white seven footers who have turned out to be high draft pick busts that the site of one going number one is sure to cast doubts.

I'm just saying if you don't think Bogut will make it, give a legit reason. Not just **** like "only going number one because of his height", because that's a cop-out. Bogut is going top because he has proven himself more than any other prospect in this draft, both at college and international level.

Well I can only speak for myself and I look at a player for who they are ? not by the color of their skin.

Well that is partly true; no questions about it, but do you think if Bogut was a shooting guard regardless of what experience he had internationally or as a collegiate, do you think he?ll honestly be a surefire #1 pick like he is now? The fact that he is a center affects his draft positioning, however, I don?t feel as if he?s less of a player because of his height.

Whatever man. Bogut will be a good player but I just think Chris Paul will be better.

Subconsciously I mean. Everyone will say that, but deep down it does make a difference, regardless of what people claim.

Of course it's a big factor, I'm not denying that. However to say it's the main reason completely disregards Bogut's accomplishments as a basketball player through his career to date, and that list is extensive.
