<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Cavaliers cleared out more salary cap space Thursday by waiving reserve guard Lucious Harris, who never found his shooting touch during a dreadful season in Cleveland. Harris' release comes one day after the club declined to pick up forward Robert Traylor's $1.76 million option for next season. Harris would have made $2.75 million, a portion of which would have been guaranteed if he was still on the roster July 1. The Cavaliers have eight players on their roster, accounting for a $23.3 million payroll. Last season's salary cap in the NBA was $43 million, but could go up by several million next season whenever the issues surrounding the new collective bargaining agreement are resolved. </div> Source
he's a good shooter and maybe if he takes less money he will come back, because he was a good contributor when he was with us
Harris was simply horrible this year! He is simply past his prime and maybe should consider retirement, IMHO. I really don't have much good things to say about him except good luck to where ever you shall go.
I always like Harris, it`s ashame to see him get waived after this "off" season he had. Hopefully he can sign with a team that can give him a chance and he can get back to his regular form.
I think Harris still has a lot of game left in him, but just did not fit into the Cavs system. Last season was probably one of the worst of his career. I attribute it in part to not having Jason Kidd creating oppurtunities for him. Not taking anything away from Lebron no question he is a great player, but Kidd is probably one of the greatest passers of our generation, and when you remove a player from a system with J-Kidd and put him in another system he will struggle. Especially if he really is not allowed to find his game, and really play through a slump. His minutes were pretty up and down with the Cavs last season. I think if he returns to the Nets it would be a good move for him. Playing with Carter, Jefferson, if there all back would allow him to do what he does best. Spot up and shoot. Don't know how many minutes he would get there though.
Harris was surprising last season. In the past he was a great shooter. But hed get a bunch of wide open shots a game, and couldnt knock them down. I dont know what happened to his shooting touch.
Well I think Harris is just past his prime. This was a no-brainer for the Cavs to waive him. They want the cap space & Harris didn't do anything last year.
