    Heard It on ESPN

It is a 6 year deal and they are hoping to have a deal in place to present to their constituents next week. The Next step would be to ratify the deal next week.

Of course It could break down but the chances are still very high that there will be no lockout next season.

Any terms on the deal? Like is there an age limit? How much is the cap? etc.

    From what I've heared:

Age Limit: 19 years old, instead of the rumoured 20 Years old limit. However, if a player gets selected in the top 14 (lottory) in the draft, he joins the team no matter how old he is (i.e- an 18 year old high schooler could play in the league if he gets selected in the lottory).

Contracts: The owners kept pressing for a maximum of 4 years for the team that owns the bird rights of a certain player, and 3 years for any other team that signs him. But it appears that Stern has convinced them to a 6/5 deal, where any team can resign its player to a maximum contract of 6 years, while the other teams could sign him for a maximum of 5 years.

Lenght: This CBA is supposed to last until July 1st, 2011. A 6 year Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This is just from what I was informed talking to some people. No way is it official. As Allnet stated, a deal will most likely be announced next week, but it could very well break up, specially with moody people such as Hunter and Stern leading the ship.

Take it for what it's worth.

Thank goodness. I didn't know what I'd do if there was a lockout. Imagine us like NHL fans last year. [IMG]

So teams in the lottery can still draft high schoolers or what?

Yup. But hopefully they can tweak it.

They might as well keep the age limit at 18. Most of these high school kids have been held back a year and are 19 by the time they finish high school. Gerald Green is already 19, he's actually older than Marvin Williams. Sebastian Telfair turned 19 a few weeks before the draft, and I'm pretty sure Amare was 19 when he declared. Plus the fact lottery teams are not effected by the age limit makes it even more useless.

^I would keep it, just to make it seem like a compromise and make it seem like the L actually did raise the age limit. Very happy that it happened.

This is still tentative though, right?

And Trip, if you read this, I was right [IMG](I'm surprised that the poster on the other fourm was right too)

This is a huge relief for me, and most likely all of you as well. I do likewhat they did with the age limit, however I personally think that if this rule is in place, they should raise the age limit to 20. Because this rule will allow all the Lebron's of High School ball to still make the league, but also it will prevent sad draft stories like the NY high-school baller who was never drafted and now plays in the USBL. I think his name was Lenny something...

Sweetnass. That only 18 in the lotto rule makes no sense but most high schoolers are 19 by the time the draft rolls around anyway. Let the Warriors Reign of Terror throughout the league begin!
