This thread is the best informative thread about the draft ever created. A video is better than 100 words said about a player. [IMG]

Not true at all. Remember that these are highlight reels. They're not going to give you much of an idea of a players game. I could a clip of Bogut throwing down three dunks and a clip of a Division-III player throwing down three dunks, and you wouldn't be able to tell who is more talented.

It doesn't just show dunks. I wasn't referring to the dunks as being informative, but rather in the fact that it gives an idea of what the player could do - look at Joey Graham's video for example; there were dunks, but there were way more footages of him hitting the mid range and three point shots, as well as some footages of him powering his way to the basket for layups. You could 'see' how a player moves on the defensive end or you could even determine if the guy is a 'I'm-gonna-sit-here-until-ball-comes-to-me' type of a player or if he's constantly moving on the offensive end. It's true that those were highlight reels, but the player in there is still the player that is going to come to workouts and show his stuff. It's not like the highlights happened during an all-star game or something; they happened in game situations where the actions of the player counted.

You get a little taste of what these guys are like, but it's nothing to judge by. There is no way you can evaluate a player's skills by a one and a half minute highlight reel. You can't even begin to see his flaws either.

Yes, I get your point. Of course, one needs some kind of fundamental knowledge about a player - a written report outlining pros/cons - in order to truly evaluate him. I guess I should've focused my point on the fact that the highlight reels are better for checking out the player's athlecism / strengths than just adjectives like "extremely athletic" or "lightning fast".
