All that remains now are Detroit and New York - I expect the latter to look at Nate closely if the Supes allow his contract to run out, but I would think Flip Saunders is a given for Detroit's head role if Brown does jump ship. In fact, I would expect Zeke's eyes to be narrowing in on Mac10 with every passing hour.
Don't dismiss the "fire to hire" theory introduced by Detroit w/ Carlisle and Brown and immediately copy-catted by the Pacers w/ Zeke and Carlisle. Teams with coaches in the tail end of their contracts I believe would seriously consider dumping their coach if Nate McMillian were available. Such teams would include Sacramento, L.A. Clippers, Milwaukee, New Jersey and Toronto. Seems unlikely but just b/c an opening doesn't currently exist doesn't mean that the job would not magically open if Nate broke off talks with Howard and Company.
There is a lot of buzz to the rumour that Geoff Petrie may buy out Adelman, but given McMillan has spent his entire professional career in Seattle, and seems to be close to an agreement, firing to hire would be an incredibly risky move. It's not like Nate is at loggerheads with management, and if he is, we have yet to hear about it.
he's called MR.SONIC 4 a reason... I really really hope and think that he wont go anywhere else. He's our basketball's Edgar.
