<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nuggets on Sunday worked out two high school players: guard Monta Ellis of Lanier High School in Jackson, Miss.; and guard C.J. Miles of Dallas Skyline. The club also worked out Italian forward Angelo Gigli, Clemson forward Sharrod Ford and Puerto Rican forward Ricky Sanchez.

The Nuggets have the 20th and 22nd picks in the first round of the June 28 draft. Assistant general manager David Fredman said they are open-minded about drafting a high school player.

"We are looking for the best player," Fredman said in a phone interview. "Either (Ellis or Miles) is in that category. We wouldn't exclude them from consideration. They were both impressive."

Ellis is expected to stay in the draft, while Miles is still undecided. The deadline to withdraw is Tuesday. Fredman said knowing the official draft list aids preparation. "It at least gives you an idea to start deliberating about players in the draft," he said. "You're working out players that can withdraw."
Forward Amir Johnson of Los Angeles' Westchester High School, Chicago State center Deji Akindele, Spanish guard Rudy Fernandez and South Gwinnett (Ga.) High School guard Louis Williams are scheduled to work out today. On Tuesday, Florida guard Anthony Roberson and Alabama-Birmingham guard Donnell Taylor are scheduled.
