<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What could Rasheed Wallace possibly have been thinking? The Detroit Pistons forward was guarding the inbound pass from San Antonio Spurs forward Robert Horry - a guy who earned the nickname "Big Shot Bob" by making clutch baskets in helping the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers win five NBA championships. It may not have been the game of his life, but Horry was having the kind of night where he was the last player on the court you could allow to beat you - much less on a wide-open shot. Horry hadn't recorded a point until there was one second remaining in the third quarter, but once he sank a three-pointer to give the Spurs a 64-63 lead, he became virtually unstoppable. He had scored 13 points in the fourth quarter and sank three of four three-point field goals as the Spurs and Pistons ended regulation tied at 89. So, with the Pistons leading 96-94 and 9 seconds left in overtime, what could Wallace, a very smart player, possibly have been thinking when he followed Horry's inbounds pass to Manu Ginobili to help with a double team, leaving Horry standing alone? Nobody on the Spurs bothered to ask him, but they were darn happy he did. Ginobili immediately recognized Wallace's mistake and quickly rotated the ball back to Horry. As he has done so often while earning five championship rings, Horry closed the book by draining a three-pointer with 5.8 seconds left, giving the Spurs a 96-95 victory and a 3-2 series lead. "I decided to double Tim Duncan down low, but Horry got the ball back and knocked down the shot,'' Wallace said. Oh. With the Finals moving back to San Antonio for Games 6 and 7, the Spurs need to win just one of two games in the SBC Center in front of their home fans to earn their third NBA title. "I was supposed to move to another space, but Manu cut to the basket and Rasheed bit," said Horry, who finished with 21 points and sank five of six three-pointers. "When I saw Rasheed bite, I said, let me stay out there a bit. I'm the type of player who's going to go for the win. I was shooting well so I just let it go."</div> Source
once again.. he proved that he's a chump! I was listening to Jim Rome today and it was mentioned how Larry Brown told every player to "cover their own man" and do not give up an open 3. Worst case would be tie game with timeouts remaining for the pistons. What does Sheed do???
