<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The word is Paul Pierce will be moved this offseason, that the Celtics' owners want him out after his flameout in the playoffs. And given Danny Ainge's new contract extension, the timing makes sense because the pressure no longer is on Ainge. Not now, anyway. A year ago, he would have taken major heat for trading Pierce. Not now. Not after Pierce turned off many Celtics fans with his behavior at the end of the sixth game against the Pacers. Scratch a Celtics fan now, and odds are they would love to see Pierce moved. For this is Ainge's chance to continue to put his stamp on this team, to remake it in his own image, one that's more and more looking like that will not include Pierce.</div> http://www.projo.com/sports/billreynolds/p...ol.21e5c14.html Add this one to the pile.
i dont understand why evry1 wants pierce gone i mean so what he reacted to tinsley punchin him in the face i wouldve done the same thing
Soo..hez not the best leader and he aint a good example but some people treat him as if hes the worst talent in the world and we should trade him for anything, daz messed up
^^ that is true. he isnt a 15 point kinda guy. he is like a 25 point player. ur treatin him like a player that isnt good enuff
Yea how could you wan't a guy who is as good as Pierce off your team? Without him, there would've been no Celtics for 4 years now. He has done so much for the franchise and even though he isn't the best leader, he is still their franchise player. Instead of wanting him gone, they should be thanking him.

But the Celtics Owners are in the business of winning championships, not just getting to the playoffs. If they feel like they can trade Pierce away and get something in return that will make them better, then why shouldn't they? Being nostalgic isn't a good way to run a basketball franchise.
The thing is if we were to trade pierce this offseason do you really think that we can get something thatll bring a championship back to boston?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheTruth5:</div><div class="quote_post">The thing is if we were to trade pierce this offseason do you really think that we can get something thatll bring a championship back to boston?</div>Well, it looks like the owners have already decided that they aren't going to win one with Pierce. So in their opinions, whoever they bring in can't be much worse then what they already have.
well atleast with pierce on our team were guaranteed to make the playoffs, if we trade him we run the risk of our team becoming the next HORNETS! The only way I can agree with this is if we get something pretty good for pierce but if its some bench player and a guy from the draft no way thats ridicuilous.

I would be willing to give Pierce up for anybody who would help bring a championship to Boston. I'm all for trading Pierce as long as we get another superstar in return. I don't want to give Pierce up for a few good Role Players. We need a superstar that will be a team leader. But in the end none of us really have a say in who or when the Owners and managers trade Pierce and who we get in return.
exactly, i agree i will only be happy with a pierce trade if the celtics get something good in return.
The number one positive in my eyes about trading pierce is that we'd probably be able to package Blount along with him and get a lot of salary cap space along with a pick and some decent role players. That cap space could lead to the signing of anyone from Redd, Allen, Chandler, Curry, Joe Johnson etc.
i tihnk that its gunna be another vince carter exept without him breaking down, there gunna trade him for aging role players and picks
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NSavic:</div><div class="quote_post">What did pierce say or do aftere game 6?</div> After being ejected for having two technicals (the second came after he "hit" Jamal Tinsley) he sat at the press conference with what looked to be a turban on his head and pretty much just mouthed off to the media.
Just to get my two cents in on this topic. I think trading Paul Pierce this off season would be a bad move for the orginization, because I do not think they would be able to get equal value for him. It is a common problem in todays NBA market when trading a super star it is only in rare cases that equal value goes to both teams. I think that the best thing the Celtics could do right now is keep Pierce on the team at least through this upcoming season give him, and Walker a chance to play one full season together, because the last time they played together they did make it to the conference finals, and one game away from the finals. With the young guys this team has right now I think they have a bright future in which they could keep Pierce in the orginization, and have a shot at getting a title. The Celtics just need to get some more pieces and they will be a team who can contend if they get a little more conssitant, and some good defenders in the lineup.
Here's the latest "development" according to the media. What an overblown topic it's going to/has become. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Speculation continued about a possible trade of Paul Pierce. Sources with connections to the team confirmed the Celtics prepared two ads to encourage fans to purchase season tickets -- one included Pierce and one didn't.</div> Boston Globe (Source)
I don't see Pierce being traded for onther superstar... I bet it will be Pierce for Al Harington + (draft picks or something), or something like that. Anyway it will be bad and painfull move, and fate of Toronto, Lakers and Hornets.... On the other hand - THE REBIRTH OF THE PIERCE, would be fun to watch!
