Is this just a coincidence, or are these two events connected? Sources in Spain think they are.
The Amercian agents for the two players are different, however the Spanish agent (Jose Cobello) is the same for both players, and also happens to be the agent for Real Madrid's coach.
This is all speculation, but when you connect the dots on the timing of this all it makes sense. Utah wants to make sure they get Vazquez if they are going to take him. By allowing Lopez to go scot free, they have essentially given something to get Vazquez without any hitches along the way. Lopez enjoyed Utah and can give Vazquez pointers on what to expect there.</div>

Picking this guy at #6 makes no sense to me. He's not even a realistic lottery pick. If we were going to pick a Euro at #6, it should be Ukic before Boston can get at him. Besides, it's backcourt help that we need. With the Lopez defection, we are down to "0" Point Guards.

Stopping short of suggesting the Jazz would scratch Vazquez from their list of possible draftees because of the red-flag behavior, O'Connor shrugged and said: "He had an appointment here and didn't show up."
The Jazz will not work out out any players today, but two more groups will be in town Saturday and Sunday. </div>

No show, didn't make much sense for them to take him in the first place.
