With next Tuesday's 2005 NBA Draft just a week off, the rumor mill is spinning. Trade talk, some involving the Jazz, is rampant ? if not actually among teams, certainly in ink and cyberspace.
Some of the speculation seems grounded in potential reality. Some has sprouted wings, taking flight with no necessary basis in fact.
From the it-might-make-sense department comes this Monday dispatch from ESPNInsider.com's Chad Ford:
"(Charlotte general manager) Bernie Bickerstaff has called (Portland's) No. 3 pick the key pick in the draft. Why? Because the (Trail) Blazers are more than willing to trade it and a number of teams, including the Lakers, Bobcats and Jazz, are willing to offer a lot to get their hands on it.</div>
