If the Suns give up a pick too then it's just stupid. They can get a better PF for Q and the 21st pick.
It's not the 21st pick, it's a future first round pick... which is basically a 2nd round pick if its coming from the Suns . I do agree with you though, it's stupid if the Suns give up the pick.

Who would want Penny? Isiah was the only person stupid enough to take him and hid big contract away from us.

The suns could have traded Qrich, a bench player, and maybe even a future first round pick to the 76ers for Samuel Dalembert. That's a great trade. Thomas is too old and maybe only has 2 ok seasons left. Dalembert is young and is looking good. The Suns could have started Dalembert at center and amare at the four. Now the Suns just traded away Joe Johnson's best friend on the Suns team. What's gonna make Joe want to come back.

I didn't know Q was JJ's best friend. Why is that, because they can both shoot 3's. Q was friends with Hunter because they both went to DePaul... that's really it. Everyone on the team were friends with eachother. JJ likes the team, if Q leaves he wouldn't... this trade gave the Suns everything they needed. Kurt Thomas will have 3 Kurt Thomas-like seasons then he's gone. da pimp I see that you live in Arizona, so I expect that you watched a good amount of Suns games. And if you did you would see how Richardson's inconsistency hurt us, especially in the playoffs.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">Well you guys gave us Marbury and while Penny's contract is expiring, we're about to pick up a star by the deadline.</div> But in the meantime the Suns had the cap space to bring in Steve Nash and QRich, plus re-sign Shawn Marion. I'd say the Suns are well ahead in that trade regardless of who the Knicks get for Penny.
Then we lose Q-Rich and save 16 mil. for the future. We sign JJ, maybe sign a star in a few years and win a couple championships starting next year.

Whether or not the Suns are ahead doesn't mean it was a bad deal for the Knicks.

The new CBA changes make those expiring contracts less valuable MrJ. The salary cap will be increased, plus teams have the one-time buyout option. Most teams in a cap crunch will just exercise that option instead of giving up a star player to save money. Potential players available - Paul Pierce, Elton Brand, CMaggs, Francis, Gasol, Magloire, Randolph

However, I think the Suns should have gotten a real center to start and not a bench powerfoward.

The thing that makes this trade a pretty good move is the fact that the Suns get a Future 1st Round Pick. This trade puts everyone back at thier natural position so it is a good move for the Suns & it is obviously a great move for the Knicks.

You're right. That was my fault. I heard a report that the Suns were getting a pick. But I was wrong.

All he does is rebound and play tough inside. That's what they need. I don't know if I said this here but since Amare is moving back to PF he won't get in foul trouble so much, and if Kurt starts he would get in foul trouble instead. Then we bring in Hunter. This is a step to winning the championship. But the Suns now need to sign Hunter, sign JJ, and it would be great to get a guy like Larry Hughes with the 5 mil. we have.
