I'm glad that I can count on you to keep me posted on anything related to my rants on this site.

I wouldn't be opposed at all at picking Whaley w/ one of our second round picks but something tells me that he'll be gone well before 48. This kid has some ability, his mind just plays tricks on him.

In the first round game of the national tournament he tweaked his ankle late in the second half of a close game. Instead of waiting to get checked out of the game, he limped off of the court during play and left the building. The coaching staff all looked at each other as to say, "Who is going to leave the gym to bring him back onto the bench." One of his assistants raced out of the gym and brought him back where he immediately checked himself in w/o talking to the coach and led his team to a victory.

When I was doing the scouting report for our championship game I watched him consistently not past half court on defense in order to get leak out dunks. His work ethic was absolutely horrible this year and that is why he posted pretty modest numbers in the NAIA (19 pts, 7.5 rebs). That being said when he wanted to turn it on he could turn it on, and he stepped his game up dramatically in the postseason.

He's definitely a player who has the ability to make an impact in the league in a reserve role (think smaller Eddy Curry) but I'm not sure if he could handle all of the outside pressures that goes along with being an NBA player. I'm pulling for him though as he seemed to be a decent guy when we talked.
