<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ESPN - According to Marc Stein from ESPN Dallas Mavericks center Shawn Bradley has informed the team of his intention to retire and is negotiating a buyout of his contract.

Bradley and the Mavericks, according to team sources, are close to finalizing a buyout arrangement. The 33-year-old has three seasons left on his contract at $14.5 million</div>What do you guys think? He may have been hit by the injury bug for a while now but do you think if his surgery goes well he should try to make a run again. I think he`s a great weapon for the Mavs and they need actually.

I'm going to be honest. He is a waste of money and I think a lot of the Dallas fans will be glad to see him gone.

Shawn Bradley does a lot of good things outside of basketball, and he wants to spend more time with his family. I think its good that he's retiring.

Who gives a damn if he retires. He should have retired after J-Rich shitted on him last year. After that he should have thrown in the towel babay!

Mavs haven't done anything in the off-season and they are already improving their roster. With Bradley retiring, and Abdul Wahad agreeing to a buyout the Mavs clear up roster space for their young guys. They also get to use the one time salary dump on a player if they choose.

There will be another if Martynas Andriuskivicus gets drafted... All the other 7'2++ guys in the league at least have bulk.

Tariq Abdul-Wahad was still on the roster? I haven't seen him play a game for at least three years.

As for Bradley, I guess the McGrady cowboy ride stuck the nail in the coffin.

Shawn Bradely a former 1st round pick of the 76ers. Ahhh... In my opinion this is long over due. To me Bradely was a player who came into the league with all the potential in the world. People always use to say wait until he bulks up, and hits the weights. Well need less to say he never lived up to any of the hype. To me it seemed like he never really had the passion for the game. He would get posterized so often, andnot get fired up, or show any emotion most of the time.

True he could block a few shots, but at 7'6" who could'nt. He is one of those guys who got to the league souly on height alone. Its good that he is retiring now the Mavs might be able to get a big man who can take his spot, and help improve the teams overall defense. It improved big time last year, but I still felt like Bradely got to many minutes during the playoffs. When he played his first minute in the playoffs, Avery had played him way to long, lol. No on the real though I hope to see him broadcasting or something it would be funny seeing Barkley or someone making fun of him during the broadcasts.

Sixers picked him with the second pick of the 1993 draft and...now I see that in 96-97 when he played his first season with the Mavs,he averaged 32.1 MPG and averaged Yao Ming type of numbers.Seems like he had potential but like Pure Skillz said,no desire.
I have his rookie card! Maybe now when he's retiring it's value will go up.
Guys, don't be sad cause in 20 years we can see his son in the L being posterized [IMG]

I guess it's fitting that the thread that likely contains the word "posterized" the most times I've ever seen is in a Shawn Bradley-Related topic.

I feel sort of bad for him. I don't think he ever recovered from losing all his talents in Space Jam. [IMG]

This guy has to be the biggest bust. The Coaches even complained of his lack of work. A guy that will always be on posters being dunked on. Never averaged over 15 pts and 10 rebs. Never dominated the post. Who cares about Bradley. Biggest Joke Ever.
