Until he came down wrong on his right ankle. Parker, who in March announced he would forgo his senior year of college to enter the NBA draft, pulled his name from the draft at the Tuesday deadline after injuring his right ankle in a Monday workout for the Washington Wizards. Parker, reached by phone on Wednesday, said, ?I was looking good, too. ?I went in for a layup and then I fell down pretty bad on my foot when I came down,? said the former Lisle all-stater, who at Northwestern averaged 10.0 points, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals while starting 86 of 88 games. Parker said he won?t be able to run for two weeks. Parker?s father, Tony, also reached Wednesday, called the injury a stress fracture of the right ankle. T.J. Parker, 21, was in the midst of a weeklong series of workouts for the Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and Seattle SuperSonics. He previously auditioned for the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks. ?I?ve got to wait till next year,? Parker said of the draft.
