I don't blame Donyell if he signs somewhere else, he will want to join a competitor. I didnt blame Zo either for not wanting to play in Toronto, he was planning to retire soon, and might even retire now without a ring. Vince I didn't blame for wanting out but it was an ignorant way of going out, he didn't even try in Toronto last season and then turned into a superstar again. If we shell out the money we can keep Donyell.
I don't think it's worth it to spend the money he will demand. He certainly will demand more than the $4.7 million he earned last season and that's our entire MLE.
Yes... he would not be worth the money we can give him/ he is asking for... plus we are working on rebuilding and he is just not in our future because he is getting past his prime and not getting any younger... I say it's sad to see such a great impact player gone but we have to let it go for the better of our future...
Marshall needs to be put in the right situation. I think that he would fit in well with the Heat & for him it is a possibility to win a Championship. So my call is that Donyell goes to the Heat.
It would be a horrible idea for us to shell out money on Donyell to keep a team together that may or may not make playoffs. We shouldn't spend on any veterans this year, because we aren't a team needing any specific pieces, we need to develop into a better team with our draft picks, bonner, pape and Bosh. I wouldn't mind if Yell were to go to phili, but I would see more problems with his minutes their if Webber stays than with the heat, because they don't seem eager with Zo and Shaq doesn't seem to love Zo, only seems to tolerate him. I think Donyell would be perfect for Miami and could start but probably would be the 6th man and play substantial minutes.
