Finally got his ring with the Spurs.

Just a shame he's been unfortunate with the teams he's played for in his career - primarily being drafted by the Clippers, and playing on one of the all-time worst NBA teams in the post-MJ Bulls. He was a super servant both on and off the court for the Supes, and he thoroughly deserves his success.

I saw Beno Udrith really clinging on to Bones in the final minutes. I guess he really takes the younger point guards under his wings wherever he goes. I would imagine that Luke would have done the exact same thing had we won a championship w/ Barry on the roster.

It's amazing how when a guy like Brent signs with a title contender fans don't have a problem with that but traditionally when other players leave to sign w/ a title contender their past team fans aren't as supportive (see Karl Malone/Gary Payton--Bucks). Hell I've seen players get booed in their returns when they were traded, not signed as a FA. Must say a lot about Brent that our fans find him so endearing and have been pulling for him all season.

Congratulations Brent and family. His wife Erin has always ranked high on my NBA wives list.

I think it just shows how much respect Bones garnered in Seattle. He was a class act both on and off the court, and IIRC, it was management's decision to wait until after the season to try and re-sign him rather than look for an extension, not his decision to play out his deal. It was pretty obvious he was gone with the way the season finished, but I don't think anyone associated with the team would have begrudged him the chance to win somewhere given how much losing he's endured in his career, and the service he gave Seattle.

For most, changing teams is just business, but with Bones it was like losing a family member. He knew it, and so did the fans. And all we gave up was an aging Hawk and James Cotton.
