Raptors to Workout Green & May <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"He does solo workouts, he does not go one-on-one," Toronto general manager Rob Babcock said. "I would rather see him play, it would make our evaluation on him easier. But it's just something that his agent is insisting on." The Raptors will also entertain three other prospects today, including 6-foot-8 forward Sean May, chosen the U.S. National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament's most valuable player after he led North Carolina to the title this year.</div> Source
Yup. I think Green isn't doing himself a favour by keeping his agent. His stock is declining. He could very well end up 7th (someone had him 5th, but I don't see it).
It looks like he will be selected 3rd overall now due to the Laker and Blazer trade. I was very torn about the Raptors selecting him anyways. I'm liking the position the Raptors are in right now. They just have to grab a quality swingman with our 7th and the 16th pick will yield a very talented point guard. Maybe.....just maybe.....Babcock will denounce his naysayers. This draft will determine whether or not he stays with the team imo.
I agree with you that we don't need to get Green - and I don't want us to - but you talk like the trade already happened. :shok:
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">If it comes down to Wright and Green, who do you guys think he'll pick?</div> Green. If you're looking for the best player 3 years from now. But Wright is pretty good himself.
i'd take green...but i dont like his attitude problem and with sam mitchell as coach you know how that can be....
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Green is expected to be among the top five players snapped up Tuesday. Given that the Raptors hold the seventh pick, it is not likely the phenom will be available when general manager Rob Babcock gets his selection, but he can still dream. "He's a tremendous athlete, upper-echelon athlete," Babcock said yesterday. "His skill level is very, very good. His focus and intensity are very good. For just what he did, it was a very impressive workout." For Babcock, the question is not if Green will be able to make the jump to the NBA, but when. "He definitely can play in the NBA," Babcock said. "The question with any high-school kid is: how soon can he be a productive player in the NBA. He's so gifted athletically that if you put him out on the court, playing minutes, he's going to get some things accomplished. "But as far as how quickly he adapts, that's a learning curve that you really don't find out until you get him." Green averaged 33 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists a game in his senior year at Houston's Gulf Shores Academy. He has great range on his shots, and scouts will tell you he is among the fastest players available in the draft. One drawback is that he is rail thin (around 200 pounds) for his height. Over time, Babcock said he can foresee Green's weight increasing to about 220 pounds.</div> Green puts talent on display
