<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Word is the Magic are interested in forward Robert "Tractor" Traylor, just dumped by the Cavs.</div> Source Should be a cheap backup for the Magic. He put up some decent numbers for the Cavs last year.
I hope we sign him another big body down low and he killed us when we played vrs him. People froget he can score.
We already have a lot of decent players downlow, we need to get someone good there. Cato/Battie are just as good as Tractor, so that would create another logjam.
Personally I think "Tractor" Traylor Is a very underrated back-up. He did alot for the Cavaliers last year & I was upset they didn't pick up his option. Whoever he signs with is getting a very good backup at a pretty cheap price.
Hey Gator, i think tony battie is good, but tractor could replace cato. Cato gets tired easily and has a bad work ethic. We need to trade him in the offseason along with christie, brandon hunter, declerq (even though im a gator fan), augmon, and mark jones. I think the rest of the roster can stick, and id like to see andre barret stay unless we decide to draft a point with the 11th pick instead of a center like we should.
I agree with Sportsrock aka GatorsowntheSEC. Tractor Traylor would be another player we bring in that really is not better than what we currently have. Not only that, but at his current weight he would not be able to keep up with the team in its transition game, and be a liability in transition defense. For the style the Orlando Magic play Taylor is not the best fit. There are plenty more options who would suite this team better out on the market right now or on the trading block. Guys like Wright and Blount from Boston are on the the trading block. Then this summers free agent market holds plenty of good athletic big men with guys like Stromile Swift, Eddy Curry, etc. Plus we have not had a good history of signing veterns who are past there prime, and not in as good a shape as they use to be with guys like Ewing, Kemp, and others who have come through Orlando .

I don't think we will be able to offer big enough contracts to players like Stro and Curry. Those guys are young and our in their primes so chances are we can't afford them. I think we should go ahead and sign Traylor because he is a cheap player that can come off the bench and make an impact. If the Magic do pass on Traylor, I think they should sign Jerome James. He is another big man who can either come off the bench or start and be a nice player in our lineup. James is a good rebounder and really stepped up his game in the playoffs last season for the Sonics. I think I would rather sign James but either one would be a nice acquisition for the Magic.

I mean if we draft a good player who can play center, and have Cato come off the bench it will be better than having Traylor, because Cato averages more points and rebounds then Tractor did last season, as well as shooting a better free throw percentage, and a better shot blocker. I think getting Jerome James would be a good move, but I would not give him big money, because we are not sure if he really is a good player or just had his 15 minutes of fame during the playoffs. I still believe at the end of the day moving Cato to the bench and drafting a big man would be our best move. Then we would still have our full MLE to offer to some players who are not getting many offers in the free agent market.

We shouldn't rush into a move just because we can. I guess I'm just excited about the offseason and want to make some sort of roster change. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Pure Skillz:</div><div class="quote_post">I think getting Jerome James would be a good move, but I would not give him big money, because we are not sure if he really is a good player or just had his 15 minutes of fame during the playoffs. I don't think he is expecting to get any huge offers because like you said, he wasn't really consistent last year. I think we should offer him a small contract and hope he wants to come back home and play for us.
