The folks in the athletic department at Arizona State will tell you Ike Diogu has all of those things on his r?sum?.

If he were a jerk who was a couple of inches taller, Diogu probably would have a better chance to be taken in the first half of the NBA draft's first round.

Diogu was among a handful of players working out Friday for the Timberwolves on their practice court. This was Diogu's ninth stop, and he has three more scheduled before the draft is held Tuesday night.

There isn't a player available with a better college career than Ikechukwa Somotochukwa Diogu. In his three ASU seasons, he averaged 21.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and shot 57.1 percent.

Diogu established himself as ASU's best player early in his freshman season. For three years, he was surrounded in the post and had to find creative ways to remain a scoring threat.

Asked if 15-foot jumpers were part of his game, Diogu said: "Yes, I had to shoot those. I had to do everything against the defenses we faced."

There wasn't much evidence of that jump-shooting accuracy during a glimpse of Diogu's workout with the Wolves. That won't matter much next Tuesday, since Diogu and NBA personnel people all agree he has one pro position: power forward.

He's undersized for that inside spot at 6-7 ?. Thus, for all that production, for all the rave reviews, Diogu seems an unlikely choice for a draft slot as high as the Timberwolves' No. 14.

"I just hope I wind up going somewhere in the first round," Diogu said.</div>

Kurt Thomas and Malik Rose come to mind as an "undersized" post player. I think Diogu will turn heads in the NBA.

I never heard anyone call him CHUCK Barkley, I only heard Sir Charles, or Charles Barkley. Look at Udonis Haslem or Malik Rose, they've done their thing and they're undersized.

My bad, to forget about Sir Charles. He was good, but dwindled towards the end of his career. I wished he came back with MJ to the Wizards, but did not have the work ethic.
