<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Consider it a travesty of epic proportions, the kind that won't go down as anything significant in the NBA Finals but definitely should. Somewhere in the parade-like atmosphere inside San Antonio's SBC Center on Thursday night, amid the kind of fanfare and euphoria reserved for champions, "The Big Dog," Glenn Robinson, was not only allowed to infiltrate the proceedings but join the championship celebration as well. There was the sickening sight of Robinson hugging Spurs coach Gregg Popovich one minute, Manu Ginobili the next. Of Robinson prancing around the arena acting like his one-point, 1.5-rebound, 4.5-minute average in these NBA Finals had anything to do with winning. The only thing more disgusting than Robinson's smile was the residual disheartening effect he left in his wake back in Philadelphia - a place that embraced him when he arrived and built "no re-entry" barricades for Robinson the second he left town after stealing $22 million from the 76ers. That's right - $22 million. Not just the $12 million he received last season for refusing to play a single game for the Sixers, but the $10 million he hoodwinked out of them by playing just 42 games in the 2003-04 season. Consider that Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Reggie Miller and a host of other notable names - after giving their blood, sweat and tears - never experienced a moment like Robinson experienced three nights ago, then rub and massage that upset stomach of yours as much as you can.</div> <div align="center">Full Story</div> g-rob is a pile of crap. he isn' a winner, and does't deserve the championship. reading this realy made me sick to my stomach. here's big dog, a man who sat on his butt basically this whole season, and got signed to a winnin team and won a title. this man doesn't desirve it. just hink, glenn robinson won the title, yet reggie miller, karl malone, john stockton, and yes, even allen iverson won no nba championships. but a man who quits on his team wins one? where's the justice in this world. i olny hope that g-rob goes and kills himself. that worthless piece of sh*t! that worthelss pile of junk
Yeah it is sorta unfair that robinson has a ring and greats such as barkley, malone, and stockton dont have rings.
Unfair article Glenn was productive in his time with the Spurs. Brought some good offense and defense believe It or not during the post season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting miamiballa12:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah it is sorta unfair that robinson has a ring and greats such as barkley, malone, and stockton dont have rings.</div> Yeah, but life is not fair. Darko played one minute in last years final, and got a championship his first season in the league. I did not want Robinson to get a title before Allen Iverson, but Steven A Smith needs to let it go. Life goes on you know. I am surprised he did not right a article called " Rashoooo Nesterovic" lol. He rights this stuff as though just, because he did not like the fact Robinson got a title that writing about it is some how going to change what happened.

It's not like he wanted to be benched. He can came out of training camp as the MVP as Jim O'Brien dubbed him but never saw any playing time. In fact, he was ready to play and worked hard in training camp to get himself in the best shape of his life. Was that his fault that the coach refused to play him? Hard to say but the least O'Brien could have done was give him a chance. Whats more is that in the middle of the season, his mom died and then subsequently the team put him onto the injured list with bogus reasons. He never "quit" Philadelphia. After reading that article, it pretty much changed my perspective. Earlier this season I would have agreed with you, but not now. Glenn Robinson was a former all-star and had a career average of a little over 20 points, I'd say he deserved it. EDIT-But, when you talk about people deserving the Championship more than others, you can make the case about almost any role player. You can even talk about Nesterovic or Massenburg.
I could careless if he won it on the coat tails of Duncan Manu an Horry. He didn't earn it so it doesn't bother me one bit. As for Allen Iverson getting the title before Robinson i'm not to sure he will ever. He is getting older an we havn't been able to give him a true star to play with. It has to happen soon an we all agree that we are no where near it. The Sixers are not going to get there anytime soon unless god decides to take pitty on us Philadelphia fans an gives us another star.

just drop it, there have been worse cases in Finals history...i've read earlier articles that stated how Big Dog came into camp this year in shape and was ready to play, and how Sixers coach Jim O'Brien was singing his praises...and then he cant even get into a game?? wheres the JUSTICE in that? Robinson shut his mouth, played hard and smart and was a consumate teammate on the Spurs...dont act like Big Dog was a Milicic-like player, he contributed nicely when called upon...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheTruth5:</div><div class="quote_post">bIG dog didnt play that much, but when he did he still provided great offense.</div> His defense improved also.

We can be out of cap hell in what 4 years when Iverson an Webber's deals are up as long as we don't do something stupid an give Korver or Green or Dally any huge amount of money.

We have our second superstar imo though I know a lot of us are dissappointed in the C-webb trade, because of the way he played last season. Remember that his surgery was a injury that tipically takes two years to recover from. Last season was the second year. Alos understand that the system JO tried to force upon Webber was something that hindered his game. Give Webber and AI a off season together to start to recognize each others games, and a year under Cheeks, and I guarentee we will all be singing a different tune come all star break next season. One thing we must always remember is that our team does try and get the best players to play here, and the cap has never prevented them from bringing in solid number two options to see how they would work with AI before. We always got to remember that thankfully we are not the NYK who are burried under contracts for years to come, and that we are thankfully not the Hawks who have major cap, but no one wants to play for us.
I never talked about KT someone else was an I made coments about it... AI can have his money but look at the Lakers they had Shaq an Kobe. Don't know there numbers but I bet they both were making good money. I never said anything about Webber but he is just injured goods to me until he gets on the court an shows me he can still do it in the NBA at a All Star Level. I just wish we would of never done the two trades that set the team back about 5 years imo. We should have never traded Larry Hughes imo. Plus Theo yea we got Mutombo an got to the finals but it set us back when it didn't have to. If you were not going to keep Hughes till he developed into the player he is now we should of drafted someone else then like.... Dirk Nowitzki Paul Pierce Rashard Lewis If your not going to give Hughes a chance why wouldn't you have drafted Dirk or Pierce.... Even trade down an take Rashard Lewis. We have been set back by poor choices an LB not giving the kid a fair chance an giving him away for nothing when we should of come away with a star at #8 like we did last year with Iggy.

Earlier this year however ina interview for dime mag he admitted as much as he hates to say it requesting a trade from Philadelphia was a bad move. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting DaAnswer3:</div><div class="quote_post">If your not going to give Hughes a chance why wouldn't you have drafted Dirk or Pierce.... We forget at the time no one new how good they would be. When Dirk came into the league European players were not as common as they are now the main reason the Mavs were able to get him was because of there great scouting over seas. Also no one ever expected Shard to become what he is today. All they had to go by back on draft day was there scouting report. Then as far as Paul Pierce goes like I said before we did not plan on getting rid of Larry. He requested a trade out of town which is why he was traded not, because we did not want to let him develope.

Big Dog is a piece a ****. Offense? This guy didn't do squat in the playoffs let alone the Detroit series. I heard him speak during the celebration on ESPN news and he just look like a f'in idiot. Watch and I say watch, SA fans will be begging the team to release or trade him in another year or so.
Give him a break; he has been producing for most of his career hasn't he? Just because the Spurs wanted him on their team doesn't mean anything, you act like Glenn Robinson just said I'm going to the Spurs so I can win a championship, but still the Spurs had to want him to sign him in the first place. Besides, when Robinson was asked to play he played pretty solid; I think he still has some left in him if he gets the right minutes.
