As maybe some of you remember i predicted the Suns would win the NBA championship 1 year ago and even bet a good friend of mine alot of money on this and sadly the Suns were beaten. This time i am predicting that the Houston Rockets will win the 2006 NBA Finals because its pretty much final that they are getting Wayne Simien who is immiedieitly going to start at PF and has a chance at ROY.(20 and 10 in college he can only get better, dont let the injuries fool you). They will probably pick up Julius Hodges in the 2nd round making them have one of the deepest benchest in the league AND the chances of them getting a couple good free agents is likely. The only team that has a chance of competing with them are Milwaukee( Bogut, Redd, Mason, Ford, etc etc.) and The Spurs.I would pick the Suns as a legetimate threat at the title but trading Q?That has to be the worst move of the century in my opinion.Put your predictions and reasons why here as well please.I guess losing $200 over a bet didnt teach me.
I don't see them beating the Spurs 4 out of 7 games. Unless they make major upgrades, which is highly unlikely.

If you mean nba championship their are plenty of other team that have a better shot at an nba championship then the bucks such as the heat, pistons, pacers, mavs, and many other teams.

The Rockets actually can compete with the Spurs. 81-80 Rockets Win 73-67 Rockets Win 81-99 Spurs Win 83-70 Spurs Win The Rockets are a great defensive team and they can play to the Spurs style. All they need is more youth and atheticism and they will become a Championship Contender.

And even if he does it dosent mean the Bucks are better than teams like the Heat, Pistons, sun, Mavs, kings, sonics, and others.
I'm not gonna predict anything but i can tell you next seasons Rockets will be much, much, much, much better than this season. If the Rockets don't become champs then at least you'll see what they're truely capable of.
For some reason, I get the feeling that the Rockets will be making more major changes this offseason...I have a feeling that Wesley and Sura are as good as gone, and I also think theres a great chance that barry wont be back...which means we have to be adding more pieces...I believe there will be some trades come draft night, and its possible we will be introduced to TWO new Rockets, opposed to just one...But, if we go the conventional route, I would say that we should draft Ronny Turiaf with our 24th pick, and pull the trigger on the much-rumored trade with Memphis that would send Wesley and Sura to Memphis for Bonzi Wells and their pick (19th I believe)...with that pick, I believe we should select a swingman, such as Francisco Garcia, who I am also impressed with... therefore I lineup would be: PG: Ward/James/Norris SG: Wells/Garcia SF: TMac/Bowen PF: Howard/Turiaf/Weatherspoon/Baker C: Yao With that said, in free agent, we have lots of room in which to use our MLE...I suggest we go after Casey jacobsen, a swingman who can shoot the lights out and plays smart ; we resign Mutombo; and we sign Earl watson...With our MLE and trade exception still available, I think its possible that we land Watson and Jacobsen through free agency, since I dont see them demanding too much, in terms of salary... so now our lineup looks like: PG: Watson/James/Ward/Norris SG: Wells/Jacobsen SF: TMac/Bowen PF: Howard/Turiaf/Weatherspoon/Baker C: Yao/Mutumbo As a result, during the season, Weatherspoon, Norris and Baker become attractive to other teams because they have expiring contracts...meaning CD's goal during the season is to unload them for youth or potential draft picks...
Do you honestly think the Bucks are champion contenders with Bogut! Hes a rookie! you think a rookie is going to come in and make them better then the Heat, Suns, Spurs, Pistons? Also Redd is probably leaving the Bucks and if he leaves thats even worse chances of Bucks being a championship contender.

I really hope you are right shooter but being a long time Rocket fan I can't remember an offseason (w/CD) when we have had that much movement. I wouldn't be surprised if we draft Simien and bring in a pg with a little more speed. Other then that I don't really see much changing from last years team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Shooter:</div><div class="quote_post">I suggest we go after Casey jacobsen, a swingman who can shoot the lights out and plays smart ...</div> With all the young athletic swingmen in the NBA, and all the quickness other teams like Dallas, Pheonix, and San Antonio have, why in the heck would we pick Casey Jacobsen. Yes he can shoot, but he ain't gonna guard Ray Allen, Kobe, JRich, or Ginobli. I dought he can even stay on his feet trying to guard these guys We need a swingman that can play above the rim and finish. Not somebody that's one dimensional. Oh, and what's the reason for keeping Weatherspoon? Am I the only one that saw the finals, both San Antonio and Detroit had athletic bigmen. They're bigmen weren't allstars, but they were long and active. The Rockets will NOT compete for a title with Weatherspoon playing PF. The West is too tough for a PF that short. Who is he going to guard!!! If we make it too the playoffs next year, teams will exploit that weakness over and over. Let's think logical here fellas
Shooter, I like what you think we should do, but don't you think that Jacobsen won't be necessary if we indeed draft Garcia as you said? Both are slow, set shooters who are one-dimensional. Why did this thread turn to a Bogut discussion? It's getting way off topic, which is why I'm locking it.
