We all no that Melo didnt have a great season last year. But once Karl came his game improved and he played well. Melo is a great player but do you guys think he will be an All Star next year? Im not so sure

Thats hard one, but I going to have to go with yes. This is because hes going to have karl for the whole season and I think he will play like he did at the end of last season.

I don't know. Karl may make a difference but I think he was overhyped and he's a good player and maybe a possible all star reserve at best

I am really not sure if he will be a all star in this upcoming season, and it is nothing against him it is jsut there are so many good small forwards in the western conference. Look at the starting lineup in the west that is pretty much a guarentee that Kobe, Mcgrady, KG, TD, and Yao will start unless someone gets injured. So now the choice of if he wilbe an all star goes to a coaches vote.

In the coaches vote they will have to deside who they feel at the forward position has really excelled and desevres to start. Well he are just some names off the top of my head Rashard Lewis, Shawn Marion, Amare Stoudamire (if the Suns move him back to forward), Peja, etc. From that list of players the coaches will have to select two that they want to place on the team. Unless the Nuggets record is real good or Melo is averaging 25+ points a game I do not know if he will get a spot.

Am I saying that he will not get a spot on the team? no, but it will be a tough choice for the coaches in the western conference to pick some reserves out of so many talented players...

Melo has to stay hungry if he wants to make an All Star team. His numbers took a small hit, but you can partially blame that to the fact that the Nuggets signed a player who needs the ball more, Kenyon Martin. If Melo can learn how to adjust and keep playing his game with K-Mart then he is going to be a better player and a future all star

He will be an all-star soon because Goerge Karl really helped is game. He is a really good player also who deserves it.

He deserves it? Last year there were at least 2 forwards who didnt make the team that deserved it more than he did, Brand and Gausol.

i think last year ruined his reputation a little bit,( people see it as Lebron and Wade top players from the 2003 NBA draft)

I dont agree with that statement. Carmelo is a phenomenal player IMO. I'm sure he'll be an allstar next year.

If Carmelo can play the way that he played late last season he will be an all-star. Late last season he was taking high percentage shots, on less shots, which led to more wins and more sucess for Melo. But for an all-star team in the west I don't know, there is a lot of tough competition out there. I am sure one of these years if Melo stays consistant he will make it.

What does that have to do with Melo? They are 4s who have to battle TD, KG, and other 4s in the West so I disagree on that one....

As much as I hate to admit Carmelo isn't on the same level as those two. Or atleast i should say wasn't on the same level. When Karl came around and preached to him, and Carmelo figured out it is in his best intrest to listen to the man, his game was on a whole nother level. Only problem is that it was too late for him to change everybodys mind last year, with all of the off-court problems and on-court struggles earlier in the year. Now this upcoming year he will get his best second chance and if his game keeps improving through the off-season and during the season there is no question in my mind he will make the all-star team. Maybe not a starter, that will probly take a couple years with the copious number of great forwards in the west for him to get voted in. But count on the coaches to get him in.

Ehhh... I wouldn't jump the gun and say no question in my mind he's gonna be on the all-star team b/c that is sketchy. It depends on how his team does.

I don't see him making it next year, maybe the year after though. There are just too many forwards in the West who get snubbed every year, like Brand and Gasol etc. They will be in before Melo is.

Who do you think is better Lebron, who puts up phenomenal numbers, but loses, or Melo who has 9 games more experience in the tougher division in only his second year?

EDIT: I mean 9 games more playoff experience.

No I do not think he will be an all-star next season. He does not spread the ball enough and always tries to be the hero. He takes too many shots.

I doubt he will because of the simple fact: there are so better players then him in the NBA! If we made an All Star second team, Melo will make it into that with an average number of votes.

Are you seriously trying to say Carmello is better then LeBron?

I honestly think Melo has the potential to become an all-star player
That is if he does not get distracted and stays away from all the off-court issues.
The question of him being better than Lebron; i think Lebron is better. This is just because i see Lebron as a franchise player.
Lebron, Chris Bosh, D-Wade; were the franchaise player of the 2003 draft night.

nah carmelo is 2-3 years away from being a perennial all-star...theres too many small forwards in the west who deserve the spot more than he does...Stojakovic, Kirilenko, Odom, Rashard Lewis, etc...
