Michael Redd has emerged as a great scorer for the past couple of years. However, some still question wether or not he is a superstar. Personally I think he is a good player, but not a superstar. He is very one dimensional who can only do one thing on the floor which is to shoot.
No way is he a superstar. He's a special talent, and a very good scorer, but not a superstar. He's one dimensional; he's a jump shooter who can get hot and carry a team. He's not a guy who can dig in on D, he doesn't rebound very well, he doesn't make teammates much better, he's just not a complete player. That said, he's a very good player and one of the better young scorers in the league. But no way is he a superstar.
He has not reached super star level yet. he can not put a team on his back, and say I will carry you to the playoffs. He is a great scorer and jump shooter, but I see him more as a second option in the future rather than a number one superstar option. He reminds me of Eddie Jones a player who can put points up, and is a guy you would want to have on your team, but you can not really make him your corner piece of your franchise.
Redd is not a super star, he is a star but he doesn't have the all around attributes of a super star. The superstars of the leauge are KG, TD, Allen Iverson, Shaq, Kobe. Or if you think about it pernnial all star can be viewed as super stardom. In the future he may be a star but he is just now becoming a player with stardom, we'll see what happens when he gets a nice contract this summer.Redd is not a super star, he is a star but he doesn't have the all around attributes of a super star. Redd was forced to be the number 1 option last year I think with bogut possibly coming and ford returning some of that pressure will be taken off him.
No chance, and I think my reasons have been covered in this thread. As good as he is a shooter, he is just that. He does not have a great overall game and he can't hurt you in other ways. If his shot is off, he isn't going to beat you other ways. He isn't a playmaker, he isn't overly dangerous attacking the rim, and he isn't a great defender. He also hasn't shown the ability to lead a successful team from the front. There is nothing to say he can't evolve these parts of his game, but he is not a superstar yet.

Don't be a pedantic knob JW, it's a good discussion thread and a very valid one given he looks like getting a max deal this summer.
