Both are young players and have proven that they can play. I was thinking about this and havent really come down to a decision. So the question is who is a better player Delonte West or Tony Allen? Who would you want on your team and who you think has a better future.

I think this a tough 1 and after hard thought i'd have to go with tony. Delonte is a great player but its seems like hes only a shooter, while Tony can do just about anything.

As of now Tony looks better, but give Delonte a year without getting injured and we'll see, Delonte is a very good passer besides being an excellent shooter, but he lacks Tony's Bulk.

How anybody can say Tony Allen is better is really confusing. He hit the rookie wall so hard that he got whiplash. He had a great few weeks, but that's about it. I look for him to be better than that, but let's be honest, Delonte was the better player last year.

I think Tony Allen is a better all around player. He's extremely athletic, he's solid defensively, and I think he can improve to become a bonafide starter. No doubt about it though, Delonte West did infact have the better rookie season, there's simply no disputing that. Only time will tell, but I think Tony Allen can become a similar player to Tayshaun Prince, tight defensive, good rebounder, solid scorer. Celtics should hold on to this guy for sure.

Delonte was a better player last year. They both have a lot of time to develop and make it big in the leauge. Allen is a great Small Forward but I think West could be a starting Point Guard for most teams. He is a good decision maker and can shoot the ball well from distance, traits teams want in a point guard.
