He has demanded a trade from the Grizz as they refuse to discuss a contract extension; going into the final year of his deal, and is set to make $7.7 mill this upcoming season. Would anyone entertain the idea of enquiring about him? He would be the ideal guy to have in place of Jerome next season as an experienced, proven big man who can play his 25-30 minutes a night and allow Casanova to be eased into the rotation. My only concern is he obviously wants to be traded to a team that will give him an extension, which would mean we'd have to add him to the list of guys jostling for contract talks. Just looking at the salaries, they would probably have to take on Fortson which is unlikely, but worth enquiring about. Unless it was a sign and trade (JJ + AD?).
I wouldn't be averse to having him on the team. It's not like I want him - and I sure wouldn't give him an extension - but I've always thought he was a solid player. Kind of stiff and mechanical, not sure his feel for the game is all that great. I think that comes from playing college ball at Memphis, though He reminds me of a poor man's Nazr Muhammad Haven't seen him much since he went to the Grizz. I think he's been injured a bit lately as well.
