Don't want to sound like a homer, but this guy is probably on his way to greatness. I say he'll win MVP next year, if not, then the year after that. What you think?

T-mac is an amazing player, and has an ok chance of winning the MVP award. Hes proven that he can score anytime he feels like it and hez proven that he can defend his man also. But still the only way he can win MVP is if the Rockets have a real good season.

For McGrady to win MVP, I think he needs to play like he did in the playoffs. During that stretch, he showed he had leadership, could defend, and could score. Basically, he carried Houston through the two opening wins that we got by being what an MVP should be- looking for the open man, scoring when he had to, and being a leader. In the playoffs, he was amazing, even Jordan esque, but he'll need to play similar to that level he wants to compete for MVP.

If he can shoot a higher percentage and the Rockets win the division, then he'll be a favorite for MVP. It'll be predicated more on the team's success then his individual performance, though. He's always had the stats to be MVP worthy. His teams just haven't been good enough.

Yao won't be MVP but I do see him being a First-Team All-NBA when Shaq become less productive and when Stoudemire moves back to power forward. That is, before Bogut and Greg Oden mature.

As for McGrady, I think that he's always there when MVP voting comes around. Whether he actually wins or not will depend on the team's success. If the Rockets become a top 4 seed in the West and McGrady averages stats like he did this season, I think he will have many legit shots at winning MVPs the rest of his career.

There are so many good players right now that it will be hard for T-Mac to win the MVP. It's possible tho.

But T-Mac will win the Finals MVP!

^^^^LOL........Well MVP is a never guaranteed thing, but "TMac the great" (lol), should have a pretty good chance at it for the remainder of his career.

I think eventually he will...I'm guessing it will be in his 3rd year with the Rockets, once he has some continuity and consistent support around him...I think he'll post 28/7/6 numbers, and the Rockets will win 60 or somethin games...
