Front-runner for ROY at this point. He's a great choice and should get free reign in Charlotte.

Like I siad in the draft thread. This is the best move the New Orleans Hornets have made in the past two or three years. He is a great kid, unlimited talent. Him and JR Smith in the back court will make the Hornets a team to look out for in the future.

Nice move. He should do much better than what Dickou did this year, IMO, and will probably be there in the end when it comes down to picking the rookie of the year.

Yes that was the same thing I was thinking. I want to see how this turns out.

Another thing that made this a good draft for the Hornets is they got Bass from LSU in the second round who is a real hard worker, and will help the overall attitude of the team. They also got to keep Jamal Maglouir so with this team they may be able to have a decent season next year. They just need some veterns outside of PJ Brown and Lee Nalion no on eon there franchise has more than five seasons of NBA experence.

It's now Chris Paul's team. He's going to make all the big men look good. See you in the playoffs.

I think Paul will win Rookie of The Year and will play great but I think the playoffs are at least a few seasons away.

Not necessarily they are getting Jamaal back this season probably , because they are not receiving the best trade offers for him. So they have a pretty good starting lineup with JR Smith, PJ Brown, and Jamaal Maglouire around Paul. They just need a bench and a small forward, and they might be competitive. I do agree with you that Paul will be a front runner for rookie of the year. They do not have a great backup for him Speedy Claxton will be used sparingly if he remains on the roster he can score, but can provide the floor leadership Chris will be able to give them team.

right. If jamaal is healthy and playing like the allstar he was then they wont be off that bad except the bench which needs lots of help

Definately a good pick, a no brainer IMO. Anyone who knew the minimum about the draft could've made this pick. Paul will definately be a front runner for ROY, and he's a player I like a lot.

    No argument here.

You may be right. There are alot of playoff spots though. Assuming NO can bring in a very good shooter and another defender in the low post, with a confident and healthy point guard with the talent of Paul who has great desire to win, this team can win over 40 games in 2005-2006. Philly got in with just over 40 games I believe.

They played in the East though. The West is much tougher.

Nope. Baron is not going to be replaced by some rookie [IMG]

Probably not in his rookie season, but in the long run I see him being better. Of course all we have to compare the two by right now is their college statistics, and Paul averaged two more points per game during his career in college then Baron Davis did, and the other statistics were pretty even. So if he stays healthy I do not see any reason why he can not be better than Baron Davis in the future for this team.

Some rookie [IMG] Chris Paul isn't just some rookie. He's NBA ready made. He was the best PG in this years draft, and arguably the best PG to be drafted since Jason Kidd. He possesses all the skills to be one of the best PG's and playmakers in the NBA. I'm sure more GM's would rather have the rookie Chris Paul running their team than Baron Davis. Chris Paul isn't just "some rookie".
