I thought for sure Green would be the pick, then they would turn around and take Jarrett Jack at 13. Should be interesting to see what they do with the 13 now...
Laidies and gentleman, JBB's own draft expert, Knicks Analyst, called this pick!! I'm pretty sure he was the only person in the entire world that had Felton going to the 'Cats. GREAT JOB KA!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Wow, I was surprised he went this high, maybe they get his teammate, Sean May or McCants at #13?</div> What a shocking pick! you cant tell me the third best pg in the draft is better than everyone except bogut and marvin. bobcats gonna regret wasting such a high pick on him with green, webster, granger etc avail

Felton I was ok with, but May with Granger and Green on board still?? Selecting May was simply a business decision because he will bring fans.
It seems like a 2003-04 NCAA All-American team down there in Charlotte. With Felton running the point, Okafor and May down low it would seem like a dream lineup to have in college basketball. Felton will make a great point guard for Charlotte and would only make Sean May's pro life easier. Felton will make everybody on the Bobcats live easier because of his passing ability. With his outside shot he would make Okafor's and May's life easier. And with his ability to run the break he would make Gerald Wallace's life easier. Great pickup by the Bobcats.
I also thought Felton was picked a little too high. But Bickerstaff wanted a PG and after New Orleans took Chris Paul, he decided to settle with Ray. I guess he didn't want to take the chance of seeing if he could slide down to #13. And it worked out since some of the players who many thought Charlotte should have picked ended up being there at 13. However, who we picked at 13 is a different story... May isn't a bad player, but why draft a back up when you are an expansion team? Anyway, that's for a different thread. I like that we got Felton. He will be a pretty good point guard in this league. He reminds me a little bit of Baron Davis but he lacks Baron's size. And that's why I believe he won't be a PG of that caliber. Ray will have a great pro career, but a perennial all star? That's yet to be seen. Hopefully it's true what some say about Felton being everything Chris Paul is minus the cocky attitude. I look forward to seeing Felton playing for the Bobcats. He'll bring a lot more speed and excitement to the team.
the selections of felton and may were not only outstanding PR moves, but also nice picks in terms of talent...Knight was serviceable for them last year and turned in a career year, but he was old and also was prone to injury...Felton gives them some youth, and a dynamic, quick guard who can penetrate and create, and who also has a nice, developing jump shot...more importantly, he knows how to win and knows how to get others involved...many regarded May as the most polished big man of the draft, and I feel the same...he will be a nice complement to Okafor, and will rebound and defend inside, while also providing some much needed offense on the inside...it was a great draft for the Bobcats, and I see the May/Felton/Okafor core as a dynamic one for years to come, especially when you consider that they have some nice supporting players in Wallace, Rush and Brezec...
