What are your opinions of this pick?

I think it was a great decision to draft Simien. He can provide rebounding and post scoring off the bench. He will be a great backup at the Power Forward postion. But there is also the possibility that Haslem will not re-sign. That would mean Simien would have a chance to start. I beleive that the Heat were thinking about that possibility while making this pick.

Excellent pick, insurance just incase Haslem leaves, and a steal at 29.

JBB wasn't working for me last night so I could not have commented.

Overall, this was a very good pick. Simien brings insurance to the frontline, and was the best overall player left. He can do everything Haslem can do, and was/is a better prospect than Haslem when he entered the draft. I'll try to comment more later on. Very good pick for the Heat.

IMO, this is the steal of the draft in the 1st round. He's got all the tools to be a lotto pick, but injury concerns are why many teams passed him up. Some are saying Simien had one of the most successful college careers in recent memory. The Heat are getting themselves a very nice player off the bench. Now if we can only get a few more players to stay in school for 4 years like Simien did...

He is a great pick, but there is no way that he is the steal of the first round. I go with Granger to Indiana. What's up with that? I love this pick. I was praying for Simien to slip to Miami. It might not be the steal but it was definately a great pick for Miami.

I love this pick and I think that Simien will be a nice player in this league. If Haslem leaves I think he will be able to fill the role perfectly and provide the same hings Haslem did every game: Rebounding, Toughness, Scoring under the basket and playing agressive defense. I really like this pick and I think we did a great filling our needs.

Yeah, I was saying that Simien was the steal because I saw a few mocks where he was projected to go in the early 2nd round, and I was stating that Miami will be happy with what they got in Simien.

I still cannot believe Granger fell that darn low. If the Cavs wouldn't have made that crappy trade last season where we got Welsch, then we probably would have taken Granger...

Great pick for the Heat. It is the most logical pick and he could have a really solid NBA career if he stays healthy which I think he will.

Yes, as a Rockets fan I was surprised. Simien was the Rocket's pick in almost every mock draft I saw. He's a great player. Only reason he feel that low was injury concerns and his height. But he is a work horse that can contribute to a championship.

Great steal of the 1st round.. could've been a lottery pick, but injurys scared teams away. I'm sure he'll be durable in the NBA, as he'll be now backing up Haslem who will be resigning with the Heat.

Great way to solidify the bench.

It looks like Haslem is staying with the Heat (YES!!!!)
So my question for youguys is who would you want to start at the PF position:
    Haslem or Simien

I'd say haslem starts no question... he's an experienced forward now and is already familiar with the system, whereas Simien must come in and learn the system and learn how to play with Shaq and Wade...

Simien will be very nice off the bnech though.
