Just for all the Husky fans around here, both Will Conroy and Tre Simmons have been invited to play summer league with us (and you would assume they'll both accept).

I can envision a lot of scrambling by teams for certain guys to play with them, most notably Kennedy Winston, John Gilchrist, Tiras Wade, Alan Anderson, Randolph Morris, Matt Walsh and Sean Banks.

    Well, how wrong was I?

Both got offers from the Sonics, but Conroy will be playing for the Lakers' summer league team, while Tre will suit up with the Hawks.

Meanwhile, we are apparently a frontrunner for Keith Langford, while I have also heard that his KU teammate Aaron Miles will be playing for us.

John Gilchrist to the Cavs, too.

And Langford has signed with Dallas.

I'm on a roll here, I'll say we're a leading candidate for Matt Walsh just so we don't get him.

Haha. Kelenna Azubuike has been invited to play for the Cavs and Chuck Hayes has signed with the Rockets.

You all still have a shot at Kennedy Winston, Randolph Morris, Anthony Roberson, Eddie Basden, Matt Walsh, and many more. I figured every single team in the league would be after Winston, but he played horrible defense in the pre-draft camps from what I heard.

Basden looks headed to Chicago, while I would hope that Randolph Morris attempts to go back to Kentucky.

Jawad Williams and Jackie Manuel are still out there too, I think, although I expect the former to end up in Charlotte.

Oh goody, Matt Walsh has narrowed his options down to Miami and Seattle.

I heard he had a killer workout for us. I hope we get him.

I picture him as a Harpring kind of guy. Although I've never seen him play [IMG]

The latest I have heard is that Miles is definately playing here (he also told us not to draft him apparently - probably wanted flexibility as he is also playing with NY's summer league team), Walsh opted for Miami [IMG] and that we are in the running for Kennedy Winston.

Just around the place. I'm on uni holidays and off work, so I'm just cruising around various sites looking for tidbits.

The three main teams interested in Winston apparently are us, Dallas and Memphis, although Dallas have just signed up Keith Langford.

    Some more names:

    - Randolph Morris will be playing with the Hawks (as opposed to going back to Kentucky)
    - Tiras Wade will be playing in Miami
    - Jawad Williams is with the Warriors
    - Eddie Basden is with the Bulls, as is Shiek's boy Omar Thomas
    - Taylor Coppenrath to the Celtics
    - Apparently Walsh will play for both the Heat and the Sonics

Still no word on Kennedy Winston.

Word from BBB appears to be that we've got Walsh signed up.

    Aaron Miles
    Matt Walsh
    DWilk
    Collison (?)/Petro
    Bobert Swift

I totally forgot about the Miles/Collison connection. I hope that he can fulfill his role of getting the ball into the hands our youngsters, and therefore make a lasting impression and get a spot on the roster.

Pretty sure Nick will be sitting this one out.

Doubt we'll get Winston either, there are only so many 2/3 minutes to go around with Walsh seemingly on board, and Wilkins playing. You never know, though, I'd expect an announcement on where he's playing within 12-24 hours.

Aaron Miles was a huge HS star in Portland; saw him play quite a bit on TV at Kansas - I was never really impressed with his game - his shot is really lacking, he's not blow by quick or fast and his court vision appears to be just average.

I see him being a poor man's Jacque Vaughn. I will say that he's an A-1 class kid, by all accounts.

I would love to see Walsh play well and make the team - from what I've read he's versatile 6-6 guy who can shoot, belly up on D and is more athletic than he looks (well that's not too hard [IMG])

Dave Young was offered a summer league spot w/ us too, but he smartly turned us down and will be in Milwaukee's summer league. After what happened to him last year I don't blame him for staying as far away from Seattle as possible.

I'm surprised that these rookie free agents aren't jumping at the chance to come to Seattle considering that we have so many free agents and our second round pick isn't coming over until next year. We've also shown in the past that we are more than willing to take an undrafted player and give them an opportunity. The past three years we've had a rookie free agent who not only made the team but got consistent minutes (Reggie Evans, Ansu Sesay, Richie Frahm, Ibo Kutluay and Damien Wilkins).

Some of these agents need to be advising their clients better.

I agree to an extent, although sometmes it might be a convenience factor. For example, a centre might sign with Miami knowing full well they won't have a hope in making the Heat's final roster, but they'll get plenty of time there in the summer league and can show off their wares to other team scouts.

Although Miles signing with the Knicks baffled me, as not only do they have Marbury and Crawford, but they'll also have Nate on their summer league side. Seattle is a good situation for him though, as there is a small opening for a defensive minded point such as Miles. His size concerns me, though, but he's a proven playmaker in a big time program, for four years too.
