I'm making this thread to talk about all the possible offseason moves/acquisitions for the Hawks so multiple threads can be avoided. I havent checked if Shape already made one for the Hawks forum but if he did could you just merge them or delete this one.

What do you think will be a a good lineup for the Hawks next assuming the use they're cap of 20 million or so on some good players and post all rumors here as well. Here's my Ideal Lineup for the Hawks next season, I'll update it with every acquisition and trade that happens so I can keep up to date.

    PG: Salim Stoudamire/FA/Royal Ivey/Cenk Akyol
    SG: Josh Childress/Donta Smith/FA/Boris Diaw
    SF: Marvin Williams/Al Harrington/Donta Smith/Boris Diaw
    PF: Josh Smith/Al Harrington/FA
    C: FA/Obinna Ekezie/Peja Drobnjak

    Possible Free Agents:
Joe Johnson could be a good addition to the team and could be our leader and he's a natural playmaker so we could play him at PG and bring Salim off the bench, there's been talk about the Hawks offering him a Max Deal. I don think that the Hawks will lure him away from the Phoenix Suns who are willing to match any offer and they're a contending team so their's no need for JJ to go somewhere else just to be the main wheel. So I dont see a major chance of this happening but there is a chance.
    Team: Phoenix Suns
    Status: Restricted

Samuel Dalembert is a proven NBA center, he can run the floor and block shots just like we need. Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, Josh Childress, Salim Stoudamire, and Al Harrington can provide the scoring so their's no major need for Sammy to stress on scoring so he can focus on what he does best, play D and Block Shots.
    Team: Philadelphia 76ers
    Status: Restricted

Jerome James is a legit center he proved that in the playoffs and in the season. James would be a good addition and an upgrade over our current centers, Ekezie and Drobnjak. If we dont get Dalembert James is a viable option because he's not going to get much and we can afford to over pay just a little to get a legit center.
    Team:Seattle Supersonics
    Status: Unrestricted

Kwame Brown could end up in Atlanta because of the need for a big thats glaring here in the ATL, he hasnt done much in his career but he was the first overall pick and the Hawks seem to like him so he could be overpayed for and brought in. With the Wizards trying their best to resign Larry Hughes he could be let go so they have enough money left over to bring Hughes back for a while.
    Team:Washington Wizards
    Status: Restricted

Jannero Pargo is a very good PG and a underrated players, he's clutch and he showed that in the playoffs and if given the chance he can perform he proved that too last, last year in Chicago when he was starting. With all the bulls attention focused on Duhon, Curry and Chandler and making sure their Bulls for another season, Pargo could be let go and he'd be a good player for us to pick up and he's a veteran and much like Stoudamire, a shooter.
    Team:Chicago Bulls
    Status: Restricted

Kerry Kittles is a good veteran and could be a great backup for us off of the bench. He can shoot like anyone else and is going to be available because he didnt do much in LA. He would be a good pick up for us.
    Team:LA Clippers
    Status: Unrestricted

Rodney Rogers is a big man that can shoot, he can post up and most of all he's a veteran that can provide leadership on this young Hawks squad. He would be a great fit for the Hawks, and possibly the most likely to come to us.
    Team:Philadephia 76ers
    Status: Unrestricted

Latrell Spreewell could be a good player for us, he's not that old yet and we could get him for a reasonable price. We could use him as a good backup if we dont pick up any other swingmen this year. He'd be an upgrade over Diaw offensively but Diaw would get the hand for defensive purposes.
    Team:Minnesota Timberwolves
    Status: Unrestricted

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On the negative side, this financial relief will provide flexibility and therefore higher spending from teams who would?ve taken a more frugal approach previously. That means Samuel Dalembert, a restricted free agent Billy Knight is enamored with, is probably staying in Philly, even if we sign him to a massive offer sheet.</div>

    Dalembert, not an option?

    ----------------

This is a negative, this may be a set back. Dalembert was probably the best Free Agent Center out there that could've came to the Hawks. Now the best option is probably Jerome James, because we could bring him in. Also it says if Delk opt's out of his contract we got $30 Million to spend on Free Agency, but I dont think it's going to happen, we still have about $25 Million to spend.

You forgot a couple, Zydrunas Ilgauskas (restricted) Tyson Chandler (restricted) & Eddy Curry (restricted) to fill the center position or Stromile Swift (unrestricted).

Jerome James might be a possibility, but the Hawks will have to overpay for him. They might want to take a look at Randolph Morris also, since he went undrafted.

I'm thinking the Hawks will make Swift an offer he can't refuse (AKA overpaying him).

    ha

I'm not a hawks fan but I like every team to be competative, the Hawks have an obligation to go after Jay williams if he's gonna make a return to the league. Say what you want but if there's even a chance he'll return to nea full health and abillity he is by far the hawk's best option, and I think the hawks are pretty much the only tream in the league with NO ONE I would want starting at pg who is on the team right now (salim is a shooter, pure and simple.)

i would LOVE stro to come to the hawks. he's a good rebounder, and is a super athletic center that fits with the whole run, run, run type of style we're building.... kwane Brown could be nice too. i think he's from the atlanta area, so he'd be some place he'd want to be, and maybe live up to his potential....

They will DEFINETLY not pick up Joe Johnson, They already have Marvin Williams and Al Harrington for small forwards so what's the point?

    Play-off are in our sights

    FREE AGENTS WE CAN LAND
    PG/ Damon Stoudamire
    C/ Kwame Brown
    PG/SG/Larry Hughes
    PF/Stromile Swift

The bulls are not going to give EDDie Curry away so a sign and trade will happen. Trade a Pick and A. Harrington.

I think that we are not going to land the top 2 guards REdd and Allan or Joe Johnson.
So I go after Larry hughes he can play point and plays great def!

    PG Larry Hughes/ Damon Stoudamire
    sg S. Stoudamire/ Josh Childress
    sf Josh Smith/
    pf Marvin Williams
    C EDDie Curry Kwame Brown

THat not a bad team. You Hughes that break down def.
    D. Stoudamire can break down the def.
    S. Stoudamire will kill with ouside shooting.
    J. Smith catching allay opps
    M williams hitting open shots.
    K. Brown claning it up!
    Eddie Curry drawing double teams!
