I remember they were interviewing Ukic before the draft and they asked him what teams he thought were interested in him. He seemed pretty knowledgable about the Raps and talked about how he could step in and provide another point off the bench. As far as Mendez, the whole invitation was really a formality. You only heard about the Raps drafting Mendez in the Canadian media. Everyone pretty much agreed that he's not a great prospect. Kind of reminds me of Carl English. Hopefully Miami will take him, as they need more forwards than we do.
I'm happy that Ukic seems content to be with the Raptors. I don't know much about him, but it sounds like he will be a solid addition to the Raptors.
